A little pricey, otherwise I'd give this place 4 stars... The food is pretty good. I got the yellow curry chicken and for the price the portion was smaller than any other place I've been. But it was tasty and great to have a good Thai restaurant in the area. The woman working there is a little rough around the edges- I don't think she smiled once but she wasn't mean just.... Just direct, to the point and we got our food quickly with no issues. I hope, however, they check their yelp reviews and drop their dish prices a $1 or $2. Otherwise this would be a restaurant we would frequent more often.
Review Source:I've always had great experiences at Khun Daeng, but it had been several years since I had been there until we went to dinner last Friday night. Â It's off the beaten path in Mishawaka in a small, but charming little building. Â It was quiet for a Friday night (maybe since it was Easter weekend) and there were only two other tables while we were there.
Service was great and the waitress was engaging. Â She knew we weren't regulars (although we probably will be now) and was very helpful.
We ordered the fresh spring rolls and Thai dumplings as appetizers. Â The spring rolls were delicious and the homemade peanut sauce had the perfect amount of kick. Â The dumplings were good too; however, the fresh garlic was a little over powering to us.
Our entrees included the Prince of the Wild Jungle (2 out of 5 on the spice level) and the Simply Chicken Noodles (3 out of 5 on the spice level). Â Both had the perfect amount of heat and the noodles had a nice smokiness to them. Â The dishes were wonderful and we would order again. Â The menu is large and the chef is very accommodating with special requests.
I've heard great thing about the desserts, but we were too full to try. Â Everything was very reasonably priced - dinner including two appetizers, two entrees and three beers with tip was $50.
