You have to take this review as really two reviews in one. Â The food and value-for-money is four stars; you get very tasty mid-eastern grilled dishes with fresh veggies and rice for reasonable price. Â Especially at night, when your only other options are fast food drive throughs and Nick's, King Tuts is probably the best option you have in South Bend / Michiana area. Â The service, however, needs a lot of work -- the place is simply understaffed. Â Each time I've stopped by, there was only one person working the counter and the grill. Â This is okay when you stop by for a late-night bite past midnight, but during lunch and dinner peak hours, it takes forever to get your food. Â Not that the guy working the place isn't trying -- he just can't do it all alone. Â I really hope the place picks up more business so they can hire another full time worker, because the food is great.
Review Source:We had a group of 7 tonight - the food didn't come out at the same time so the first person was done before the last person was even served. Some of the worst hummus we've ever had. Not one person could finish the food it was that bad. Please save your taste buds and go anywhere else to eat.
Review Source:Fast food style 24/7 place to eat that serves Middle eastern food? I was intrigued !
I went in and waited for a good 15mins to have my order taken ( only one frazzled girl working the place.).I had the side of hummus and lentil soup with a falafel wrap. Took about 20mins for my side of hummus and soup to come. Was some what put off by(what I though was) over spiced hummus( big chuncks of herbs that where throughout the hummus) and pita bread tasted like cardboard. I have had hummus tahini from many places and I would say, less spice the better in this case. I have had better hummus from a can... On a better note the Lentil soup , Though excessively hot and burnt my tongue really bad, tasted some what like what it should. Â The Falafel warp was good! the sauce was good and the falafels where spiced but not to hot. I would think about coming back if they changed the hummus. Why over spice it?
