Maybe I am nostalgic, but I thought this place was better when they were in the 100 center. I have been chastised by my friends for thinking that, but service goes a long way for me in liking a place. Â Maybe it was like being part of a family back when they were in the 100 Center, it seemed like everyone was related that was working their (I think they were). Sure it was dark, but that just added to the feel of the place. Â
The new place still has the same great pizza and we will for sure order carry out, although not as often as they are a bit out of the way from where we live. Â But until my biggest issue, the servers hovering over your table and chatting about their high school lives within ear shot we won't be dining in.
Only in the Midwest would you find one of the best pizza restaurants in the middle of cornfields at a gas station stop.
The pizza is excellent if you like deep-dish, if you don't mind waiting for a table, and for the pizza itself (estimated wait time is 45 minutes to bake a deep-dish pizza and 35 minutes if the restaurant is not busy).
Friendly and attentive waitstaff....a size 'small' stuffed pizza was approximately $17 and it could easily feed 3 hungry people. Sit in the bar and have a drink while you wait....
