Francesco's Italian & American Restaurant

Great homemade pasta, wonderful service, and a warm environment.  It's cozy by the fireplace in the winter.  They accomodate well for large parties.

Wow. Absolutely terrible service at Francesco's, a place I previously highly recommended. (i probably ate there every week or two between 2000 and 2002) The waiter says he's Francesco junior. He was rude, slow, and got very unpleasant when I complained gently, and insulting when I asked to speak to the owner. In part... Because I was there with a certificate I purchased from the local version of groupon. Something he had to have volunteered for. So our bill came to a couple bucks plus the $15 I paid for the $30 certificate.  He insulted me for complaining about the service when I "only paid a dollar for dinner." The old Francesco was very nice, apologized, invited me to come back for dinner on him. I'm only giving it the second star because I have a great deal of respect for the elder Francesco. Sad to see the huge difference. Very disappointing.

The food was OK. Not nearly as good as I remembered. Nothing special. The coffee tasted burned. The tiramisu was still partially frozen and tasted mediocre... guess they don't make it there anymore.
