I live in Santa Barbara and have been to EOS many times, but I have yet to be impressed by this place. Â First of all, it is hardly ever full unless there's a bachelorette party there. Â So it's a pretty dead dance floor. Â Secondly, the drinks are always overpriced. Â And thirdly, they take pride in the fact that they offer hookah but none of them know what the hell they're doing. Â They use quick-light coals and the shisha always burns within the first five minutes. Â I own several hookahs and know how to work with the shisha and coals and they refuse to give you the tongs to shift the coals. Â Do NOT get hookah here - you will be ripped off. Â It's far from State anyway, you'd be better off going to Indochine.
Review Source:Probably my favorite club on State Street. This one is pretty big, the drinks are good, bigger dance floor than a lot of the other clubs. Also has tables and a smoking area that is partially indoor with a nice ceiling. The quality of this place is just really good, and the staff is friendly and very helpful.
Review Source:I've been to most of the bars/clubs in Santa Barbara and from my experience EOS stands out for a few reasons:
1. Staff - All of the servers and bouncers I've experienced have been extremely pleasant and friendly, this would seem expected at any place of business but it seems many of the other venues in town have forgotten that a little hospitality goes a long way.
2. Drinks - Whenever I order a drink it comes through strong and tasty. While many other bars in town are starting to implement pourers that limit serving sizes I can always expect that my drink will come through tasting as it should - not watered down to save a couple bucks.
3. The Crowd - While the EOS crowd tends to come out a bit later then some of the other spots it's always a great time. Beautiful people all around, good tunes inside, and interesting conversations to be had outside by the fire (the fact that they offer Hookah sets them apart in my mind as well).
Will definitely be going back - and soon!
Came here on a Friday night at 11 and the place was practically empty with 5 people on the hip hop floor. They closed off the electronic floor because no one came over there. By Midnight the crowd was filling in a bit more. The music was alright (hip hop and some top 40s)and the crowd was kind of strange, it seemed like people were too shy to dance. I'm used to clubbing in west Hollywood where there's no room to breathe and everyone is happy and friendly and dancing machines, so this did not live up to my expectations. If I come to Santa Barbara
again, I'd probably check out a different dance club.
I have mixed reviews for this place.
3/5 stars for the crowed and the popularity of the place. It was quite empty. Music was good house and hip hop rooms and outdoor area.
Bartenders were friendly as they should be, but with the way this place was on a saturday night, they should be EXTRA nice. Â Bouncers were super friendly and I usually don't like bouncers.
No cover that night. If there was cover i probably would be very disappointed.
They just need a better promotor and get the crowd in. The place is great overall just needs the crowd.
It took a while, but Eos has slowly become one of my favorite places in Santa Barbara to party. Â From the outside it doesn't seem like anything special - there's rarely a line, but when there is you can bet there's a minimal cover of $5 or so.
Once you get inside, there are multiple bars to get your drink on and multiple dance floors so you can shake your groove thang, both inside the venue and out on the back patio. Â The DJs here play great electronic music, you know if you're into that type of thing ;) Mark Farina came through a few weeks ago and their resident Kojay is phenomenal.
They had a good selection of music, lots of dance floor space and the patio outside is really nice.  Although it's a little further than from the main strip and there might be a cover, I think it's worth it since the cover is super cheap and the atmosphere is just "classier" than the rest of the areas.  I like how each section had their own music.  One was like top 40s hiphop and rnb and the other side was this weird dubstep stuff that I still had fun dancing to.  I think the best part about the place is that there's something for everybody  and 3 bars to keep people happy and nicely buzzed.
Review Source:EOS is pretty fun on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday night. Here are my pros and cons:
Pros:
+ Great dancing music including Top 40's, electro, pop, and DJ remixes
+ Spacious dance floor
+ Lots of bathroom stalls
+ 2 different rooms/lounges with different music and their own bar areas
+ Outdoor patio is nice
Cons:
- There's usually cover charge of $5 for all guys and girls
- Kinda far from State street
The $5 is definitely getting your bang for your buck; however, if you bring a jacket, keep your eye out because my friend got her jacket stolen here once :(
Cover on a Friday night? Â Strike 1. Â
Cover on a Friday night at 12:40pm? Â Strike 2.
No other vodka but Belvedere at the dance floor bar? Â Strike 3.
I know it's one of the few joints in SB with a dance floor but considering the music was sub par and the crowd was either young or pretty old, I'd pass and just hit up a dive bar.
Perfect place to go for young college students and old creepers preying on young chicks! Located in the downtown of Santa Barbara this was like an upgraded version of Santa Cruz's Motiv. Every Thursday all the college kids come here to drink and party.
This place was REALLY cool. It didn't feel lame at all! There are pretty much 3 parts to this place. One side playing hip hop and rnb music with the other side playing house/electro music. There is an outdoor patio that plays music and has a bar too. Besides the good music, there is lots of space to dance and mingle. There are also booth lounges type of deal that you can sit with your friends in. There are multiple bartenders to buy drinks from. THANK GOODNESS! Compared to the college life in Santa Cruz there are probably 2 bartenders trying to serve 5 people. TOO SLOW! At least at EOS everyone gets their drink quickly and efficiently.
Dress up and look good to go here!
I went around 9:45 pm Friday night because I was done shopping and didn't want to kill time elsewhere. It was great. The dj was great AND there was a drummer with the dj. I have never seen a combo with just those two. It was sick! Love love loved it!
I've been to eos on other occasions and it's been alright. However this time it was really fun. I definitely plan on going back to just chill with the music.
Type of music- The dj was really cool with playing a range. One friend who was there with me is a big fan of European music and he was bobbing his head and dancing in his seat. The dj/drummer combo also played reggae, and more popular current songs too. One of the really cool ones that I hadn't heard before (sorry if I'm behind on the times) was Coldplay Clocks with a cha cha beat.
I actually really like Eos! I went with girlfriends and really didn't mind that it was a bit off State. There are two large bars I believe and a huge back patio with a fireplace. There are also two dance areas, one for techno and one more hiphop, kind of awesome for people like me who like to mix it up with both. I would have given five stars if drinks weren't overpriced, but I guess everywhere in sb is like that!
Review Source:Nice lounge, good ambiance... 2 dance rooms.. 1 for the top 20's or hip hop and the other is for trance...
Drinks are average.. $10 a drink or shot..
I like their outside patio, heat lamps around the outside and booths for people to sit and talk and there's also a fireplace too...
If you're looking for  dressy spot, this is the place, everyone's all dressed up.. we saw a couple people get dropped off by limos...
These clubs don't tend to be my thing these days, but with my friends bday and about 30 of us the venue worked very well.
The have there own shuttle service. Picked us up in Solvang and returned in the wee hours.
We packed an ice chest full of liquid curage and 80's rock and the night rolled on.
The run two dance floors with two inhouse dj's.
The music was more techno new wave, not so 80-90's repeat at many SB dance floors.
Drinks about $10, few bucks cheaper than what used to in LA.
The back opens up to an open patio that gets crammed like steers at a branding, lots of meat that is with a few heffers.
We did bottle service of Absolute with 3 mixers.
Nice addition to the SB area.
Too crowded - obvious fire hazards
Ass grabbing  by the creepy older crowd who takes advantage of there not being covers until midnight.
I guess the fact that EOS isn't on state street is the main reason why it attracts an older, more old-school-local crowd, but I don't dig it.
The two times I've gone, it's either been so crowded that I couldn't breathe/drink/get my freak on, or there was a cheesy folk rock band playing. WTF?
EOS lounge could benefit from hiring a few more promoters and dragging the right kind of clientele off of State Street and ushering them across the lot (maybe hire those guys who work at the airport directing planes on the ground).
Regardless, the music is great, the dance floor is not overly crowded, there are many well dressed people, and the outdoor area has nice airflow.
If you are getting a table, I highly recommend (in this order) the upper table inside, then the table by the back dj, then maybe the Zeus table. The upper table has great air flow and looks down on everything like a hawk on a cliff overlooking a field of blind mice.
I give this place four stars, even though I have a sad story about it.
Imagine you're talking to this cute boy, and then you have to go to the bathroom and he says he's going to buy a drink, but he'll be there when you get back. Â Then you get back and he's gone, and then you see him again making out with some hot mess blonde girl. Â Sad face :( Â Oh well, he had a big chin anyway, but I'm not bitter.
Came here for a bachelorette weekend... no cover b/c it was covered in a party package we arranged so can't say much about worth and cover. But the bouncers and security here were nice and chill. It was a Sat. night around 10:30. No line, crowd inside was decent. Not packed to the brim, but not empty and boring.
Atmosphere/decor was decent. Big bar that served the patio and the inside. 2nd smaller bar outside. 3rd smaller bar in another nook that played more electronic trance... The main dance area was small (both areas were small).
The music as blah... not bad, but nothing special. The usual popular hiphop dance hits and mixes, throwing in a few old school goodies once in a while.
Drinks were ok... bachelorette was gone so that's good.
People... some dressed to impress, some dressed way down (i.e shorts and flip flops)... over all everyone seemed pretty nice. Some guys a little douche and stalker-ish, but generally friendly, and no b-tchs w/ attitudes.
Eos Lounge was my favorite when I lived in Santa Barbara. Â It was far enough from the main strip of obnoxious clubs, but close enough to end up here at the end of the night. Â Although, I did used to start and stay here all night back when Bang Bang was held here.
The bouncers and bartenders are uber friendly especially if you get to know them by frequenting the place (as is always the case at any club). Â
I also really love love love the set up. Â The DJ booth sits high and pretty above the dance floor which is small, yet the perfect size. Â I've spent many nights here dancing myself into oblivion on a packed dance floor as well as an empty one. Â Maybe I'm just the weird girl that does that, but this dance floor is definitely very inviting. Â Also, the back patio is a great size and reminds me of a Mediterranean villa. Â There's a lovely fireplace and sometimes they have a DJ spinning out there too.
The crowd is a bit older compared to some other downtown places and I've seen some fairly eclectic attire (love it). Â Go here when you don't feel like dealing with sloppy sorority sisters falling all over the place and screaming, "WOOOOO!" Â That's not to say I haven't had my share of attitude-filled sass coming from bimbos waiting in the lady's room line.
Oh, and no there isn't just one bathroom. Â Look around people!! Â There's another one outside.
What more  I can say is that this place has Mediterranean/Electronica vibe. Screw dropping a deuce and flying across seas like a Euro-suave fronting over nothing, lame. lol.
So in recollection I've only been here 2x. It's fun to lounge at, good drink variety, pretty people, attractive interior remodeling. Also, my cuzzo Derren, a B-Lister in SB lol, helps run things with the SB Nightlife squad askaboutet.
But why did ppl keep giving meh Vodka/Cramberry though huh? I felt like a Russian Cool Aid man, lol get it? I was bouta bust through walls but then they had a cool light advertisement plastered along it so I decided to chillax.
Yes the 1 bathroom issue can be a sore spot for some people.
Especially drunk ass bitches who don't realize that other people are waiting, and will be pushed aside to let aforementioned people in before them. Â Only after being told nicely, of course. Â My recommendation is if you gotta go...go in groups. Â Come on, it's not like you haven't seen your best girls' hoo ha before.
The music can be best summed up with the fact that I got the chance to dance to the ringtone designated for my momma. Â Old school generic classics mixed over familiar beats over and over again. Â Kinda fun when reminiscing with old friends about when you used to sneak into clubs when you were teenagers, but that's about it.
Can't say much about prices, except tap water was free and there is a cigarette machine offering American Spirits, Camels and Newports for 8 bucks a pack.
All in all, I would say this is a place to come to check out some nice pieces of ass....um, female ass. Â Sorry guys, the chicks are definitely out ranking the guys in the hotness department here. Â But you all get a nice pat on the back for trying. *pat pat*
I have to give this place 5 stars and here's why. My company was hosting a party and needed to find a lounge. I called up EOS lounge, and Adam, the GM, was great. He worked with me in getting prices, decorations, DJ, transportation, food, you name it he's got it covered. I would highly recommend using this place for a corporate event. Great deal that he threw for us too so that's always a plus.
Our company had many many compliments on the location and how fun the party was afterward. I can't say much about what goes on during the regular week, but when you close this place down for a private event, watch out! That's when it gets wild. Good times.
Out in Santa Barbara for some relaxing.
Group of girlfriends drag my dead body to this club.
OK so I'm not the best sport but you know i keep my big mouth shut. That's of course until a chain of events break that silence.
Billions of humans packed in like skimpy, douchey and sandal wearing sardines.
Yeah I don't even have space in this place to roll my eyes properly.
1 bathroom stall...thats right. 1 bathroom stall.
Come on guys! Club girls need plenty of space to re-cake their clown faces and cackle like sea hags.
Music in here is terrible. I had to disinfect my ears after leaving this joint.
Let me finish this review with a story of human blood.
Some poor girl cuts her hand so bad its bleeding all over the dance floor.
People are too drunk and fail to see the blood and continue to dance in this pool of blood until the bouncer comes over and sweeps it up with a BROOM!
Swishing the blood all over the place...thats until someone with a brain came over and used a rag (oh wait they didn't have a brain either cause they didn't use gloves).
I paid $5 for this?
More upscale then the usual dive bar setting of dtown SB. Â Decked out with VIP tables, modern decor and a snazzy looking bar.
The outdoor patio seemed to be popping but I think that was because it was a hotter than usual summer and the a/c just wasn't blasting enough.
The main room has an adequate size dance floor and the dj was playing top 40s and overly enjoyed his music selection..he sang along to EVERYTHING--pretty entertaining just watching him
The drinks are reasonably priced and the line wasn't very long.
Don't let the out-of-the-way location fool you - Eos is a hidden gem that has way more to offer than a lot of the cheesy bars on State St.
The place itself has three distinct areas that pretty much cater to everyone - a loungey bar area with plenty of non-reserved seating, a dancefloor and a big outdoor patio. The bartenders were extremely friendly and mixed up some of the best cocktails I've had in awhile. One made some kind of crazy Buddha lemondrop that was delicious.
Music was pretty good as well - a nice mix of old favorites, newer rap/pop and techno. Very danceable.
Great crowd as well - I don't think I've ever seen such a mix of ages, backgrounds, etc. in awhile.
This is a great lounge! I love going here to get away from the normal crowd. However as time goes on this place gets more popular.
The outside does not look very inviting and looks like it would be a hole in the wall. But once you get inside the place is pretty amazing. You walk in and they have a long bar in the front and plenty of seating. They have two bars, one inside and one outside. They have a good dj playing mostly house music. They have a nice opened up dance floor as well.
The second room is outside and there are reservation tables out there and nice decor of plants etc. I think this is a great place, one of those do not judge a book by its cover.
They have great drinks, but are more on the pricier side than the bars like sharkeez. It is a lounge after all not the bar type. All the people working here are very nice, bartenders and the guys at the front door. :D This place has a more laid back in a upscale vibe, without the snobby Hollywood-like attitude. People who also go here are older, depending on the night you will not see a massive college crowd b/c it is off the main street where most bars are at.
Like someone mentioned before there is a young professional vibe all looking to just relax and have a good time.
Like Tom M. stated, its a "very classy venue". Â It's has a very trendy feel to it, and nicer than most of the bars/clubs in SB. Â There's areas to sit both inside and outside. Â The couches they have inside are moved once it hits 10 p.m., and turned into a dance floor. Â
It's a pretty small dance floor, but it can still be fun. Â I don't really like the music though, because there's techno and trance (how do you dance to that?). Â
Sometimes I come here and there's a long line, and other times there's no line at all.
Very classy venue. Â Its also well sized and suitable for meeting new people, or for just going out with your friends. Â
Its hard to guess when nights will be good, usually Saturdays and Thursdays are very happening, Fridays occasionally but not always. Â Off nights are pretty random, but I'm not sure why they bother to open on those nights, to be honest. Â
There is a nice indoors areas, with several seating areas with a few couches. Â There is both an indoor bar and two outdoor bars (one of them is cash only...so you'll never have to wait on anything if you carry cash). Â The outdoor patio is usually pretty darn crowded. Â The indoor area is too noisy because of a dance floor, most of the time. Â
I have only paid cover one time, out of having gone there probably 20 times or so. Â
Very wide age span -- I am 23 and meet other younger people there, and I also see people who could be in their 40s.
