Waiter was excellent because he was very conscientious about my wife's celiac gluten free diet. The food however left a lot to be desired. It seemed to me that most of the food was from a can and not fresh. The sangria was decent but that was all. Food was also bland and tasteless. They need a new chef.
Review Source:A solid tapas and wine bar choice. Okay location, nice ambiance even if it was a little austere- I felt like I was sort of in a Spanish monastery. Really friendly staff and delicious $7 sangria, both white and red. I was a little thrown off by the empandas but this was the first time I had them Spanish style. (Yo soy boriqua so I'm used to my empanadas being heavy on the sofrito.) But everything was really delicious- it's better for a small group but they will cater to a large 12 person group as well. Â My girlfriends and I had a lot of fun. Would go again!
Review Source:As frustrated foodies living on Long Island, we tend to get very excited about urban-type establishments that pay close attention to presentation, atmosphere and service. Espana Tapas Bar nailed it tonight. We were thrilled with our experience. We walked in and were immediately greeted and seated to our liking. Our 2 glasses of Sangria were in front of us within 3 minutes and a nice fresh plate of delicious olives and warm bread arrives soon thereafter. Our waiter gave us excellent recommendations, the timing to the table was perfect and the food was great. Â The atmosphere was intimate yet festive. We felt comfortable and content. When the check came, we filled out the questionnaire and to our surprise noticed that the owner read it immediately and then came to our table to comment. He was open to suggestions and as gracious as I've ever seen management in a restaurant. He totally gets customer service and clearly is striving to make the experience at his establishment as good as it can be. Â We were walked to the door and left feeling fantastic! Â Great job Espana Tapas Bar. We will be back for sure.
