I've been here twice. The food is decent, the drinks are affordable.

The 1 star is for both times my card was charged a few dollars more than the bill + tip. I doubt I'm the only person it's happened to.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, I take my business elsewhere.

this place is a cool setup. A good place for pool there's two tables. There is a fooseball machine. it says its a good place for the UFC fight. I agree with that there's a lot of seating an open space and plenty of TVs.how was there on a Friday afternoon and it was a very small crowd. It looks like there's an older crowd feel. Everyone is showed up was coupled up there were no single girls. They serve a large mug beer for $4. I would go back.

3.5 stars but lets round down lol

Basically if you want to sit down to watch a big sports/PPV event you better call ahead and reserve your seats. Place is small to medium sized tv's could be better positioned or just bigger but overall ok.

Food is average not bad but basic. Prices are great and plenty of parking.

Nothing fancy, straight forward local hang out in a strip mall.

Solid spot to watch a game especially if you want a low-key casual experience. I'd come back if in the area again...but I'd also check out others spots to be sure I'm getting the experience I like but for the price can't go wrong.

One of the cover bands that I've followed for a few years was playing here, so we drove up the road to check out this "new to me" place. It's your basic old time neighborhood bar with a sideroom for some pool tables; they also have a bunch of pinball machines to keep the kids and young at heart diverted for a little bit. There are a number of TVs around and local sports memorabilia plastered on the wall, so this definitely does qualify as a sports bar. It's more intimate than the ones I've been to, and my observation is that THAT intimacy is a good thing.

The band was jammed into the front corner of the sideroom with their backs to the large glass display pane facing the parking lot. When I walked in and I signaled "eating", the bartender waved us over to that side of the bar, and the two of us took the booth opposite the band, directly across the makeshift dance area. When the server appeared, I asked her if this was OK, since most twosey couples we at the barroom tables and a family of seven were in the booth behind us. She said that it wasn't a problem. Most of the people here were in their forties to sixties, more than a few were in biker leathers - all of them seemed to know somebody in the band.

There were younger people in the booths opposite the bar. They looked to be more into the food than of the 70s/80s music this particular band was covering. Once in a while, a couple from that side would come up and shake their stuff. The band played a couple of country waltzes for the lovers in the audience; not too many takers.

For food, we ordered six of the Fat Boy tacos: al pastor, asada, pollo, carnitas in some combination. This turned out to be waaay too much meal, even over three hours of munching and seven beers for my gal and me. The tacos are as wide as a hot dog.

The asada and carnitas tacos and the salsa were superb. The al pastor needed some work (no tang), and the chicken taco was dry, but flavorful. Strange.  For what we paid for these bad boys, I was not disappointed.

However, I don't think that I see me jonesing for these tacos at dinnertime.  I'd send someone over here to grab my lunch, though. The table service this evening seemed to be tag-teamed between a MILFish older gal and a college age gal, but was very friendly and quite attentive by both.

As a venue for an evening's local entertainment with some decent food, Fat Boys is a winner. You should check what's playing before going in the evening. Solid four stars.

Ok my first review ever!! Lets start with the positive: the staf was very nice.

Ok the negative: Dark and dingy inside, it's so dark you can barely see (at 1 in the afternoon)  it makes you feel dirty just walking in. I Tried the food twice first time had a  torta second time tacos, both times I threw half my food away it was so bad. Flavorless and gross. I think they just serve food just to have a liquor license. Go there for the night life or to drink, but avoid the food at all cost!!!
BTW the other reviews are fake as hell obliviously promotional.

Went here hoping to find a great taqueria close to home.  Its a great bar, the food's alright, service was good.  Good size portions, not as authentic as I hoped, ie, shredded cheese on tacos, but then again its called Fat Boys Taqueria and Sports Bar.  Overall a great place to go for drinks and nice sized food portions.

I really like Fat Boys. My fav so far is their Vegetarian Tostada Compuesta. I like it with boiled beans, which they make very tasty. The tostada is topped with lots of fresh ingredients (rice, lettuce, cheese, guac, olives, sour cream and salsa) and the salsa is home-made and delicious.

The owners are very nice and attentive. We went for dinner and to watch a UFC fight a couple of weeks ago. Very fun! Happening bar crowd if you want a place to hang. A side room has pool tables, video games and they were setting up for live music in a corner. Kids menu, too.

The food is off the hook! The ceviche is so fresh and the fish tacos and home-made salsas are to die for. We also tried the pesole. It was tasty and had lots of fresh cilantro.  Our server was excellent. She was very attentive. We never waited for refreshed drinks or more chips and salsa. She recommended menu specialties and yummy drinks. They have a full bar and serve the corona with shrimp, lime and hot sauce. Haven't had it that way since I was in Cancun. It was a nice touch. There are lots of TV's to view the game. And, they have a few pool tables in another section if you just wanna hang out. Great location. No more Press Box for me. This is a much needed and pleasant place for NW Fresnans looking for a nice neighborhood hangout for food, drink, and fellowship. Will be there again soon!

I loved it. Whoever said the food was bad must be a competitor. I live right around the corner and I'm glad to have this place close to my house.

Billed as a taqueria and sports bar, Fat Boys just opened up on the corner of Bullard and Marks. I had a late-night taco hankering and had been looking forward to trying the food, so I headed down for some take-out. The place was packed, with a live band playing and music spilling out into the parking lot from the doors. Inside, wait staff and bartenders bustled to keep up with the crowd, which was mostly middle-aged ladies dressed in their most revealing evening wear and men who seemed like the type to douse themselves in cologne. Still, everyone was having fun and I was there for the food.

It wasn't clear where I should go for a take-out order, and the staff that passed by me were on a mission to serve other guests and didn't offer greetings or directions. I spotted a register by the bar and went over to get a menu and place an order. The food was prepared quickly - $2.25 per taco, and I was assured that these were bigger than your ordinary taqueria tacos. They handed me my tacos, but I had to remind them that I hadn't paid yet, so I waited in line at the register to pay.

When I opened the package up at home, I was pleased - they were indeed good-sized tacos, stuffed with meat, pinto beans, cheese, and cilantro, plus salsa on the side. The carnitas was chopped into tasty, juicy, well-browned chunks instead of the shredded version you often find elsewhere. I thought it was a good deal for $2.25.

Anyway, the food was good and I'd like to try some of their other specialties, like posole. If you can get past the crowd and the slightly disorganized feel, which I expect to improve as the staff gets their bearings, I recommend stopping by. I'm hoping they remain successful, so that I can fill my late-night taco cravings.
