While in St Pete to see the Rays v. White Sox game on Saturday, we got there early and were looking for a place to eat. A parking lot employees directed us to Ferg's saying they got the best wings and burgers in town. Our group headed there and ordered both burgers and wings, and are we glad we did.
The chicken wings were OUTSTANDING! Delicious, Huge, and very Inexpensive. Could you ask for anything else? The burgers were also delicious and would have been a great meal on their own, but the Wings were King !
Combine that with a busy pregame crowd, yet quick friendly service. Our waitress was
non-stop, making sure our drinks were filled and checking on us at all the right times.
It was the highlight of our road trip to Tampa! Thanks Ferg's !
Being a Ray's fan (yes, even through the darkest of seasons) Fergs is definitely the place I hit up before (and sometimes after) ball games at the Trop. And I'm not the only one. This mostly outdoor bar leaves not an empty seat in the house on game day. With pretty decent bar food, cold beer and plenty of people watching opportunities, Fergs is the perfect place to hang out with other baseball fans.
Located just outside the Trop's tunnel, you can easily access it from any of the neighborhood parking lots or the Trop's parking area. Get there early if you want a good seat!
Grade B+
Local sports bar at it's best. We go before Ray's games for a few drinks and food. The fish spread is really good it's made with Amberjack and served with fresh veggies and crackers. It's one of the best in the area. Other good menu items are the chicken wings and burgers. This place is huge and even when it's packed there always seems to be room for everyone. Lots of TV's and seating indoors or out. Â The service is pretty good, friendly and efficient even when they are slammed. There is a sidewalk out the back door the goes right to Tropicana Field, and they have a parking lot on the side where they charge $10 for game parking. Otherwise there is lots of street parking and also a trolly stop at the front door. My only complaint would be that they do not offer Happy Hour prices on game days, and the bathrooms are pretty small which can cause long waits.
