We went to Ringside Cafe for lunch on Sunday, 8/18/13, which was a pretty quiet time. Â This is a place with Character but needs some maintenance. Â There's a small stage for live music, which is supposed to be a nightly thing. Â
The menu is pretty large and has a nice variety of options. Â I don't see many places that offer Cheese Curds, so we had to get them as an appetizer. Â The Curds were crispy deep-fried cheese nuggets of various sizes, and were good. Â I had a Shrimp Po-Boy, and my son had a cheeseburger. Â The Shrimp Po-Boy was plentiful -- actually too much stuff for the bun so I ate it with fork & knife. Â The fried shrimp were crisp and everything else on the sandwich was good . . . except the bread was too soft. Â I would have preferred a firmer crust so that the sandwich might have had a chance to be a sandwich. Â My son enjoyed his cheeseburger and said it was up there among some of the better burgers he has had. Â
Service was very good. Â The young lady who served us worked very hard and often checked with us to see if the food was good or our drinks needed refills. Â The service we received was 5-star, but the place was not very busy at the time. Â Prices were about what you would expect for this kind of place.
We plan on going back to try a lot of other things on the menu. Â I bet the place is a lot of fun in the evenings when the live music is there.
