This pizza is very yummy and I was pleasantly surprised because I am a pizza snob. I was very pleased! Their wings while very flavorful were burnt in some areas, but it just may have been the ones I had. I want to come back and try some of their specialty pizzas and some more wings so I can bump this place up to a 4. :)

Decent beer selection. Awesome atmosphere. Honestly, the best pizza in CT. I recommend the mashed potato or pesto primo pizza.

The Fireplace always intrigued me the many times I walked by it in Southington Center.  Last week I finally took the opportunity to visit.  And I'll tell you that this kitchen is doing great work.

Wood fired pizza is what most people think of when they hear of this place and rightly so.  They have a lot of diverse choices on the menu or you can create your own.

I chose a sausage and salami red pie and it was excellent.  The toppings were generous and you could really taste the wood fired influence of the oven. The crust was a great balance of crunch and chew. So yeah, order a pizza.

But what puts this place over the top are their wings. They do them differently than what I'm used to seeing in wing preparation.

Instead of deep frying them, Fireplace smokes them in their pizza ovens and what a difference that makes!

I'd never had wings prepared this way before and now I think they are in the top five I've ever had.  Wood firing these things makes the meat just fall off the bone tender when you attack the plate.  And the honey BBQ sauce they use for their smoke wings is awesome.  I know this because I never order honey BBQ but just felt like something not spicy on this day.

The balance of sweet, tangy and smoky truly makes these wings unique.  Now I need to try their spicy wings to see how they stack up.

So I came here for pizza and wound up with some of the best wings ever.  Not a bad deal if you ask me.

Quiet setting, a bit dimly lit...Still Christmas lights and garland wrapped around the support beams in late March. Tables are all "decorated" with a 6 pound can of pizza sauce for some reason, which is a tad cumbersome for table space at the 2-person tables, but apparently is used as a makeshift pizza stand as we later learned.

We ordered the Smokehouse wings and the mashed potato pizza. Wings priced at $7.99 for a baker's dozen seemed like a no-brainer. Sauce on the wings was very flavorful, and very reminiscent of the way KFC's barbecue chicken tasted in the early 1980's. Unfortunately the wings were not that substantial.

The pizza was ok. We were expecting something along the lines of the Pizzeria Uno mashed potato deep-dish, what we got was a basic pie with a thin layer of mashed potato replacing the sauce and a drizzle of sour cream on the top. It tasted fine, but for the price point, it was nothing special. And just a side note of opinion, an 8-slice pizza is NOT a large. Whenever my girlfriend and I go out to dinner and order a pizza and split an appetizer we almost always leave with a to-go box. In this case everything was gone and we were still hungry.

Now to the major cons of the establishment.

The waitstaff is unprofessional. When we were to be seated, our booth had to be cleared of a laptop where a waitress was supposedly doing homework. Across from us next to the "waiter's station" which had broken off doors was a pair of high heel shoes just sitting out on the dining room floor. We witnessed a waiter bring out a lemon wedge for a woman's tea in between his fingers, and also watched him rip open a straw wrapper for a customer with his teeth right out in the open.

And my biggest gripe about this place.......

I'm a craft beer connoisseur. When I see the words "Tap Room" prominently displayed on your sign, I'm expecting something of merit. Instead here you get a draft selection of almost all macro-brews (sorry, but Sam Adams and Blue Moon are NOT craft beers) with one local selection, a major brand disguised as your "own house selection," and ONE rotating tap (which they happened to conveniently be out of when i asked about it.) I ordered a City Steam Naughty Nurse, which I have had on several occasions, and I can tell you without a doubt after tasting one there that they DO NOT clean their draft lines regularly. It tasted downright metallic.

Overall, I wasn't impressed, and i doubt we'll be back any time soon.

pizza was ok. salad was a bit over dressed. panzanella super disappointing, just not what i expected at all - not like any other proper panzanella i have had. pizza, well .. yah just ok and that makes me sad that such a beautiful oven let me down..

i wanted a small, they brought a large. it was described one way on the menu and what came out was totally different. did they give us the wrong pizza? i was too hungry to ask, but probably once was enough for me.

Really nice atmosphere and great feel to the place. Lots of friendly people and best of all some really good pizza. They have a great selection of toppings and served really nice. We like this place so will be coming here a few more times we expect

I like the food here better than most areas, because it's great for what it is.  They have several different salads -- the caprese salad is really good, their Caesar salad is nice and light, and their Greek salad is traditional with a good cheese-to-other-stuff ratio -- and I usually like getting one or two salads and a pizza and sharing around.

If you get salads, ORDER THE FOCACCIA BREAD.  They make it in-house and it is freaking awesome.  Addictive, though, so like other people have said, be careful you don't eat too much before your meal comes!  Sometimes when I go for lunch, I make a meal out of the bread and salads.  It's pretty great.

Their pizza is consistently good, and they have some interesting choices.  If you're up for something different, it's a great place to try new pizza combinations.  They also do the traditional cheese and one- or two-topping pies.

Their bar area has tall tables along the walls with two or three chairs, so it's a great place to sit and have a drink.  These tables have their own little TVs, which is pretty awesome if you want to go and watch a game, but there isn't room at the bar.

There is plenty of seating throughout the restaurant.  They also have outdoor seating when the weather allows, but be careful on summer nights because it is buggy and they don't put out citronella torches/lanterns that I could tell.  It's really busy on weekend nights, and if I recall correctly the hours regarding lunch are unreliable so make sure you call ahead if that's what you're interested in.  I think it's mostly a dinner/drinks place.

    Recommended, for sure.

Pizza here is good. Probably the best I've had in the Bristol/Southington area. It is not the greek style that seems very prevalent in the area, but it isn't quite as thin as New Haven style. The crust, cheese and sauce are all very tasty.

The beer selection is pretty good here, as well. They have their "own" beer, which I thought was merely okay.

My kids (and I) love the foccacia bread here, but be warned - it'll fill you up quick, as you won't be able to stop eating it!

This place has a really cool bar and is able to make good food...but it is inconsistent, and that cannot be if you want 4 or 5 stars.  The last time I went I ordered the chipolte maple wings, which sounded awesome, however, I was brought the garlic wings.  I told our bartender who insisted that they were the wings I ordered.  I have eaten the garlic wings and told her that they were definitely the garlic wings...she continued to tell me they were the chipotle wings and that they had a new supplier so that was why they tasted different.  OK..Ill eat them...now on to problem two.  The wings were burnt to a crisp.  I didnt feel like complaing to the bartender again because I hate being an annoying customer so I ate the few I could and threw my napkin over the rest.  I was extra disappointed b/c the place was basically empty (isnt that alway when you get your worst meals).  Anyway, I wont hammer them on the stars b/c I have had some good meals and some good fun there, but when your customers tell you that you made a mistake accept it and rectify the problme instead of making up excuses.

Pretty good place. Basically just pizza on the menu...can't really find Italian entrees besides Pizza and salad. Good food.

The garlic wings were excellent, good sized, nice and crispy. The pizza was so good (we had chicken pesto w/goat cheese & buffalo chicken), thin crust but with a little chew, delicious.  Good service (on point but laid back).  the owner was walking around, very nice guy.
I love the atmosphere, dark and pubby but refined.  we were at a little 3 seat table in the bar area and the table had its own TV.  a bit distracting, but if someone wanted to watch a game it would be amazing.
The martinis were strong!  yeah! but for some reason alot of them have cream in them (but Im sure you could order them without). The Black Cherry almond martini was real good, and effective :)

also, there is a dining side, but I didnt get to see it

We ended up going here because the restaurant we intended to go to had too long of a wait. What a great find!  We ordered 3 small pizzas - 1 potatoe, 1 pesto and 1 BBQ chicken. They were all delish!  There is a busy bar area, and cozy atmosphere. We will definitely return!

Cozy fun busy atmosphere on a recent Friday evening.  Sat at the bar and enjoyed a couple of good martinis and my husband enjoyed  a few good beers.  We didn't eat as we just had dinner but the pizza looked delicious.  We will definitely be back to check out the food too.   Fun energetic environment!

I'm definitely a fan. All the ingredients are fresh, the service was good, and the atmosphere was fun. The menu is somewhat limited (a ton of pizza, some subs, and some salads), but the pizza options are pretty unique and delicious. It was a little light on the sauce for my taste, but overall it was great. We had the zucchini pizza, one pizza with bacon and prosciutto, and one chicken BBQ pizza.  The zucchini pizza got soggy after sitting there at the end of our meal, but other than that, I liked all of them. We also had the spicy chicken salad, and it was chock full of "stuff" besides just lettuce, and the large is enough to bring home left overs.  My fiance and our friend tried the house lager, and liked it enough to order more rounds.  We will definitely be back!

We ended up here out of desperation while in town on business. The service in the bar was actually pretty good considering the lateness of the hour. There were pointed questions about the hot wings and which ones were best. The waiters suggestion of the Smoke House Wings was unanimously agreed upon and we were not disappointed.

The wings were disappointing only because of the size of each individual piece, they almost felt like pigeon wings instead of chicken wings. A party of four should get two orders.

The pizzas are really good for thin and stiff crust. The build your own option is a bit expensive per a topping, but they're willing to modify the menu versions to help keep the price down.

A small pizza is actually bigger then you think it should be though. Even being hungry I still had a hard time finishing it by myself. The sauce was an interesting flavor, but worked quite well in conjunction with the crust.

Both pizzas were devoid of grease though - a sign of using good quality meats which always impresses me. The most important part, the crust was just about perfect, not mushy, not too hard. Tasty, yet not over whelming the toppings.

Overall, much better then I expected for a last minute dining choice. We'll definitely head back when in town again.

Pizza here is above average.  They have a fairly large draft selection, but the only problem is that not much thought goes into which beers are available.  I think they pretty much leave it up to the distributors.  If they had a better selection of beers, I would have given them 4 stars.  It's a nice place to hang out except for all the TV's.

The wings I had were the HOT HOT ones, I believe?  The waitress said they were wicked hot and she was right.  hello Runny nose!!!
But I'm writing about the pizza and the company.
My boyfriend and I had declared it "sunday funday"..which meant bar hoppin and eatin!
we ended up here and had a lovely waitress and met two older gentlemen at the bar who I'm SURE..I talked their ear off (bound to happen after a few beers.)....
    The pizza...proscuitto..cheese..little sauce..ultra crispy...YUM!!!
If only I didn't have that last beer..then maybe I wouldn't have knocked the two pieces of pizza on the floor by accident..WAHHHH!!!! Hmph. :(

While the two pizzas I experienced weren't great, they weren't bad either. Then again, this place is a sports bar - you don't necessarily come here for the food.

The Classic Margherita ($13 for the 12" small) was tasty, though the thin crust (it's definitely New York style here) didn't hold up well to the water in the tomatoes. It probably could have done with less tomato or less chunky pieces.

The crust on the Clams Casino ($14 for the small) held up better, but overall the pizza was very salty with both the bacon and the chopped clams. Both pies were nicely charred with a crispy crust.

If you're looking for a takeout pizza, I would probably look elsewhere. It's a bit on the pricey side here. If you're looking for a sports bar, this could be the place for you.

Great food!  The Brooklyn Bridge is a must have!  Be sure to order the smokehouse wings too!!  Great bar crowd, no live music = no problem!  The employees put on their iPod on and let the hits play!!!

My husband and I were driving back to NH from Atlantic City and wanted to stop somewhere for some good "pub" food and see the game ....the yelpers got it right w/ this one!
First impression was off the scale since they serve #9 on tap...along with a few other draft local microbrews, but i stuck w/ the #9, cause, it's #9 and i love it!

They have huge flat-screen tv's over the bar and then individual smaller tv's at each table in the lounge...so if you want to see a game here, it is a good choice for that

    Good service, friendly staff
The wings I had were very good - really spicy, but not taste-bud numbing...which is perfect for me

My husband ordered a pizza w/ canadian bacon and when it came it smelled LUCIOUS i mean the aroma from this pizza was very unique and GOOD

so, i have no problem recommending this place and giving it 5 stars,,, good call yelpers!

I always come here with friends when we are back in our home town for holidays. It has a nice clean feel on the inside, but isn't too fancy. Decent beer selection, decent prices. The pizza and wings are very good as well.

Disappointed in their pizza. They skimp on ingredients - not worth the price.

This is a cool place to go for a drink or light food.  They only serve pizza, some wings and a couple of sandwiches.  The pizza is VERY good, altho a bit on the high side for price.  The wings are tasty, but small.  the bartenders are very good at what they do!  Beer is always cold and fresh.
If you plan on going on a weekend night, plan for it to get very busy anytime after 9.  It usually is shoulder to shoulder.  Cheers!

The Fire Place is a fun place to watch a game and have a few beers.  The crowd is somewhat varied but definitely on the younger side, I'd say between 23-28.  I can't say a lot about the food, (which consists of salads and smoke fired wings & pizza), as I've only had a few bites of things, but they have a decent beer selection which includes Sierra Nevada on draft.  Their prices are a bit on the high side but it's usually a fun place.  The fake logs on the potbelly stoves behind the bar are a bit cheesy but it is nice to have a decent bar option on Center Street.
