The Monday-Friday lunch special, specifically, blows the roof off any other special in town. While I'm not one of those perpetual bargain seekers, I felt rather giddy after getting an adult beverage, 10 wings (top 5 in Miami, might I add), along with a pile of curly fries (also my favorite in town) for $5.99. I left feeling guilty - for having narrowly terminated all 10 wings and for having paid so little. Better yet, Flanigan's offers a vast selection of other items to chose from that that same special price.
Review Source:This is one of the coolest pub we've been to in Havana FL and amazingly it has some great dishes. We had a Fresh Tuna, a Salmon Grill, a Fresh Dolphin Salad, and the "Award Winning Baby Back Ribs" for dinner. Everything was as perfect and fresh as it can be. The Salmon was perfectly cooked with garlic sauce. I didn't like the Tuna as much because it was just slightly dried, but that's the thing with Tuna...I think! My girl loved her baby back ribs and she finished every last piece of it and kept wanting to come back for more. The Fresh Dolphin was NOT real Dolphin but it's a type of Mahi-Mahi fish because we are not allowed to eat "flapper" :) it was a little fishy but if you are a fan of Mahi-Mahi it is actually quite flavorful with their house salad and a splash of their dressing is just perfect!
Review Source:This place is famous down here for the amazing ribs, and they are amazing ribs. The wings are famous too, but not as great as the ribs.
This place is packed constantly, and I mean packed. This location is teeny tiny, barely room to move and you are right on top of the table next to you. Its worth it though because the food is very good.
They have a good alcohol selection too. Tried the Flanitini (essentially a chocolate and caramel martini) and it was a bit strong for my taste and I like chocolate martinis.
Everyone seems to enjoy themselves and the walls are covered in local fishing photos. Its a pretty cool place, definitely a relaxed feel and good food.
Everything I'm about to write only applies to the Coconut Grove location. Â I'm in the industry(food and Bar industry) and it's with no hesitation I tell you this is the best place to go for a cold beer and great bar food after 3am in Miami. I've seen everyone from famous people to people living on the streets inside. Young, old, rich, poor, all races everybody feels at home here. Bartenders are surprisingly patient from putting up with the late night crowd and always engage you in conversation or leave you alone according to what you want. Food is highly decent. Wings are stil the best I've had in Miami. Egg rolls filled with rib meat(RIB ROLLS), fish dip, dolphin fingers, chicken stickers, nachos, prime rib(good cheap version), philly cheesesteak, blackened dolphin sandwich are all top notch for an after hours place. open till 5am everyday including holidays. Parking no longer an issue since they purchased the lot next door. family style sports bar before 10 is still worth a visit. great specials like free wings with pitchers on wednesdays.
Review Source:I feel silly reviewing Flaningan's since it's a chain, but mark my words: all Flanigan's are not created equal.
This Flanigan's has THE. BEST. RIBS. I'm talking hands down. I get a full rack every time I go, no matter what, because even if I can't finish them in one sitting, I will eat them later that night. Especially in my house which is full of Flanigan's fanatics, those ribs won't last more than 3 hours without being eaten.
I generally go with my dad and we almost always go during the week so we can get Joe's Meal Deal, which includes a caesar salad, garlic rolls, a full rack of ribs, a side, and a drink for $20. Seriously you cannot beat that. I would pay $20 just for the ribs.
The salad is big and you can choose to add bacon bits, croutons, and cheese for no extra charge. I almost never finish the salad because there's so much food. The garlic rolls are sitting in a glorious pool of garlic sauce and are toasted on the top and so warm and soft on the inside.
But the ribs. Oh the ribs. The ribs are fall off the bone, but not in the gross way that a lot of other places' that have "ribs" do-- all gooey and fatty. These have no fat and the meat is tender. They put just enough BBQ sauce, but of course you can always add more yourself. I usually get the fries on the side. Their fries are so good. They're the curly kind and they're never soggy or hard. But I have also gotten the baked potato which is also good, but how can you really screw up a baked potato?
The ambiance is a typical sports bar-- crazy decorations for whatever holiday it is, pictures of the owner's family and friends on their fishing expeditions, and any Miami game on, no matter what sport.
Judging from all the fish on the wall, I'm sure their fish is also good, but I can't bring myself to go there and not get the ribs. It seriously feels like a sin.
It's usually very crowded, especially at peak times, but the service is great and the food is incredible so it's always worth it.
I mean it's bar food and you can't really mess it up. The best thing about going to "Flannies" is the daily deals. It's also the perfect place to go late night/early morning if you are looking for post party eats. Have to confess that my late night chow down food is rib rolls. During "normal" eating hours I enjoy the Salad Salad with tuna fish. Know that its super loud and you might have to wait in line but its worth it!
Review Source:Not sure what more you can ask for. Â Food is surprisingly really good, and fairly inexpensive. Â TV's all over the place, so ideal for watching sports. Â A big plus is they play the audio for local sports teams (Heat, Phins, Canes, etc). Â They have drink specials all the time, and a solid beer selection. Â My personal go to meal here is their chicken philly with fries.
Review Source:This place has probably one of the best Mahi Mahi sandwiches I've every had. It was very fresh and juicy. I ordered it with their vegetable medley side which was cooked in lemon butter and I contemplated getting a second order of it after I finished the first order. Also a great place to catch a sporting event on TV in the bar area. I've already decided I'm going back tomorrow for lunch to get another Mahi sandwich before I leave town! Check this place out if you're craving good seafood.
Review Source:Flanigan`s in Coconut Grove is my favourite place for Ribs in Miami. But the restaurant shares the top of my list with Shortys on South Dixie Hwy. ( Only the Quality of Ribs!)
We arrived yesterday from Germany and when my Husband asked "Where do you want to go for Lunch?" I simply answered: I am starving for RIBS!!!! We`re staying in a Hotel at Brickell so Flanigans Coconut Grove was very close. We both loved it on our last visit. Even when the restaurant is crowded, we never wait for our dinks or our food. The waiters are very friendly and attentive. The Ribs are mouthwatering and fall of the bone. Why dont we get this great stuff in GERMANY!!!!?????? The BBQ sauce is so good that i could DRINK it! Â We`re coming back and back and back....
My hubby said that if I wanted to eat out tonight it had to be at a place where he could watch the game.  So, we headed to Flanigan's, which is  just three blocks from our house, with lots of food and alcohol, and TVs playing every game known to men.
Everyone in Florida probably knows that Flanigan's is known for their baby back ribs (every carnivore in Florida, that is). Â Yes, we ordered the ribs, but first we started with the fish dip. It comes with tortilla chips, celery, carrots, and crackers. So there is a lot of variety to choose from. Â The dip itself has a nice fish flavor without being fishy.
When we were half way through the dip, our entrees arrived. My hubby ordered the full rack of baby back ribs with grilled veggies and cole slaw. Yes, you heard right, grilled veggies and cabbage. Uh? (He's a rookie!).
The ribs are the way to go in Flanigan's. They are fall-off-the-bone, tender, juicy ribs that are the staple of this restaurants. Â They are delicious. So, if you like meat, you will love this ribs for sure. Â I will not describe the grilled veggies because they are veggies and nobody really cares, sorry!
For my entree I ordered half rack of baby back ribs, six BBQ wings, and french fries. Mmmmmm...that's a real meal! Â One thing that I think it's pretty cool is that the BBQ sauce on the ribs is not the same as the BBQ sauce on the wings. Â The one on the wings is spicy and the wings are very crispy even though I ordered them unbreaded. Â The fries are curly fries, crunchy outside and soft inside. Â Very nice. Â
We didn't do dessert because we were actually quite full. In fact, we had to bring home some leftovers. Maybe this rookie thing is contagious :( Â After all, we ate a lot throughout the weekend.
All in all, this is a great, casual, family-friendly place, with consistently good food that will not hurt you wallet.
I've been coming to Flanigan's for as long as I can remember and always always leave pleased and satisfied. It's a casual, great all-American fisherman themed restaurant, bar, and local hangout. They always have great drink specials and even drink-food combos like on Mexican Mondays when you get a free Nachos with the purchase of a pitcher of beer or Wings Wednesdays (same deal but you get wings instead of nachos). The food is delicious and finger-licking good. BEST BBQ RIBS EVER ... The fall right off the bone. Try the nachos, the rocking rib rolls, the smoked fish dip, the grilled fish, burgers, etc. everything is good here! And the Flanigan Shannanigans dessert is a great finale to leave you in a food coma!
Don't be surprised to have a 30-60 minute wait during busy dining hours, like weekend nights. You'll see people of all ages here because they all know it's worth the wait!
This is my spot. Best happy hour on the planet! Try the rib-rolls but check your cholesterol right after. My lovely girlfriend and I grab a pitcher either on Wednesday  all day or everyday after 10 pm because it comes with a free order of 10 wings. Monday is Nachos,  Tuesday is fries and Thursday is fish dip. The lunch specials are good too and the Pasta Caesar with chicken is amazing. Great music, awesome service, tv's everywhere, Great place. You can't beat it.
Review Source:One of the best happy hour deals you can find...only available at the bar though.
Drinks are 50% off between 4-8pm. For example, Grey Goose on the rocks is $3.90, wow!
Food here of course is excellent. Parking can be a challenge, but if you get there early enough you should have no problem.
Flanigan's in the Grove is one of the older locations and it has a lot more character than the newer strip mall ones.
The 60's Grove hippie culture is still alive and well here...plenty of white haired folks with tie dyed tee shirts, especially at happy hour when the beer is only $2.
As far as Florida Seafood pubs go (Ale House, Quarterdeck, etc), Flanigan's is top of the heap.
Fresh fish, famous ribs, and did I mention $2 beers at happy hour? Â Â Â
One of  the best places in town  to watch a game and get your drink on.
A+
This is one of our favorite spots to go to! Â WINGS ARE DELISH! Â RIBS ARE PERFECT. Â Salads are huge and always fresh. Â Rib Rolls are finger-lickin' good!
One negative: The fries need cheese dipping sauce! I never order fries here because they don't offer cheese side!
PS - Not a healthy place to eat! So only go on cheat days or if you're having cravings.
Wings and wine! What a way to dine.
Yes, I drink wine... Often. It's been a while since I popped open a brew. With that said, I won't bore you and tell you about how I had a glass (or two) of their house Chardonnay. But I will talk to you about their wings.
Meaty, well seasoned, yummy little pieces of goodness. Granted, I'm not excited in the least about their ranch dressing. But their horseradish dipping sauce has a nice kick. A little bite with creaminess combined that when put together makes sense. A friend at our table ordered a steak that came with it and it beckoned me to dip my fries in once or twice. (No double-dipping, I promise.)
The service was great and the trivia cards on the table leant a hand to some good conversation.
All in all an enjoyable visit.
Almost as soon as our plane landed in Florida, my friend Sean started singing the praises of Flanigan's. Though he loves New York almost as much as I do, he's always said that Florida serves better ribs and seafood. And based on his continuous lauding, I can only assume that by Florida, he meant Flanigan's.
I finally got the chance to test the merits of the place for myself on my last night in Florida - and I'm happy to say it lived up to my expectations. The restaurant is casual and lively. There was a wait for a table so we sat at the bar. Carolina, our bartender, was very friendly and nice. We ordered a half rack of baby back ribs and a side order of ceasar salad to share - at least that was the idea.
When the ceasar arrived, I meant to only have a few bites. But once I started, I couldn't stop. I blame it on the homemade croutons that were just too good to pass up. They were crisp and yet airy (if that makes sense), not at all hard to bite into. And they were so well seasoned. There was just the right amount of dressing on the salad. What it lacked in anchovy flavor, it made up for with the generous portion of bacon bits mixed into the salad.
Then came the piece de resistance - the baby back ribs. This is a MUST HAVE. The ribs were covered by ample BBQ sauce but unlike most ribs, they were not drowning in the sauce so you could still taste the full flavor of the tender, melt-in-your-mouth meat with each bite. I have no idea how long they braise the ribs for, but long enough that the meat falls off the bone - no need for a knife, just a fork if you don't want to get sauce all over your hands. There is no denying it, these were the best ribs I've had as far as I can remember.
I agree it is old and a bit run down but they have a great menu and great food. The service is nice and fast. We had the tumbleweeds, while I prefer regular Onion rings this was a massiv portion and still pretty darn good.
I loved the rib rolls, crunchy and hearty.
I had the fresh dolphin salad and my husband the shrimp.
Both were very very good.
Maybe not the best for a romantic date, but definetly  good for a great seafood dinner at a descent price!
Wow! Thank you for wiping the horrendous taste of Hogzilla of my palette. You make me believe in BBQ again when there was a time I thought there was no hope. Everything is exactly as it should be...sweet sweet success.
Wings, Ribs = Euphoria...There was a moment I though to myself, "be present this is happening, now."
After having a very crappy experience at that Hogzilla Restaurant in Miami Beach, I was aching for any place that could serve some good quality "bar food" and I am happy to say that I followed the lead of other Yelpers and went to this place to try them out today.
First, we tried the chicken wings as an appetizer and they were excellent (medium heat). I have tried many, and these are excellent. We then ordered the half rack of Ribs with a half BBQ Chicken combo and it was awesome (the price is a bargain so take advantage of that combo deal). The flavors of the ribs were perfect because you could actually taste the pork under the BBQ and it was not hidden by the obscene smearing of sauce that most places utilize. The curly fries are indeed delicious, and even though they didn't arrive at the perfect hot temperature, they were nonetheless very tasty. The chicken was juicy and the sauce complimented the flavors excellently (unlike that already mentioned place).
The service was a bit all over the place, but it was always attentive and effective. They always suggested and gave their opinion on dishes and they were always right on the spot, specially with their dessert suggestion (read below).
Now came dessert, and the one they suggested was SPECTACULAR. It is called Bonzai and apparently it has won a lot of awards. I honestly never care about awards because I have tasted plenty of "well regarded" desserts that were no better than stuff you get at Publix, but this one was a clear exception. Let me be clear, it is not a sophisticated nor gourmet dessert, far from it (as it should be in a bar like this), it is simply a decadent, extreme, and plainly spectacular dessert that will make you feel like a piglet in a brand new sty... in other words, you love the hell out of it, but you feel bad about how many calories you are forced to burn for a few weeks after it. The dessert has Kit Kat, crushed Oreos, a delicious and moist brownie, ice cream, chocolate syrup, and whipped cream.... go figure the exact numbers on that one (it is a huge dessert that my GF and I couldn't finish).
Anyhow, I give this place full awards just because of the awesome "Americaness" of it all.
If I'm gonna watch my favorite football team play away from the comfort of my couch, it's gotta be a good venue. That's why I was a little weary of my friend's suggestion to watch a big championship game at Flanigan's. Knowing he was a dedicated fan; however, I decided to trust him. Walking in I was quickly put at ease as I glanced up at the ring of televisions surrounding the bar. It was almost as if everyone had their own personal viewing!
After waiting about a half an hour to seat our large group we made it away from the bar to the dining area where we still had a good view of the game from even more TVs. We sipped on pitchers of Blue Moon while watching my team make the push to victory. While the seconds ticked down, I noshed on buttery garlic rolls, standard mozzarella sticks and the star of them all, the rib rolls. I love BBQ and couldn't help but be intrigued by the description of these fried entities. One bite in and I was hooked. Although I completely burnt the inside of my mouth, that couldn't stop me from devouring more. As if the win wasn't sweet enough, my friends ordered up the brownie dessert that was the perfect ending to a perfect game.
I don't know how to describe the waiters here with any other word but eclectic. They were entertaining to say the least and I was impressed by how quickly the food came flying out.
Our gameday outing definitely made me reconsider my stubbornness when it comes to where to watch big games. I'd definitely go back to Flanigan's and feel assured I won't miss a second.
Flany's is my number 1 spot!!!
I used to go to school in Tallahassee and every trip I took down to miami, a ride to Flanigan's was always required. Whether to go and drink some beers, eat some wings, and watch a game or go for an actual family dinner, this place caters to all.
My favorite is the Joe's Meal deal every Sunday-Thursday. You get the side caesar salad, half a rack of ribs (or full rack, if you're extra hungry), a side (fries, baked potato, etc) and three of the most delicious garlic rolls ever on this earth. Oh and a free soda drink, so it all comes out to like $15. Talking about this is making my mouth water, which is surely a sign I'll stop by here sometime this weekend. i've just realized how much I've missed it so.
They're opened until 5 am, so you can also get a full dinner on that late night tip. Also, they have a liquor side store next door. Perfect food and location. My heart beats for youuuur soft baby back ribs. YUMMM!
Open til 5 am., wow this is the place to go for all the restaurant peeps after they get off of work. Stopped in last week around 1 am., was very hungry and wanted a cocktail. I could not believe how many patrons were there drinking and dining. The parking lot is hard to get in and out and not much parking but be patient, it is so worth it. Grungy, smells like beer, but good ole bar food.
We started with a margarita and some onion straws, which were lightly breaded and oh very good. The margarita was just as good. Then hubby ordered a burger and I chose the Chicken Philly Sandwich, both came with good french fries.
My sandwich had great tasting chunks of grilled chicken, Swiss cheese, onions, peppers, and mushrooms on a hoagie roll. This was an awesome sandwich, loved it, great flavor, and well it really hit the spot. Hubby's hamburger was a bit overcooked but hey not everything can be perfect. I really liked their menu, as they had a good variety of good American food.
Prices are very reasonable, service was excellent, we had a very cool waiter who really took great care of us, and better yet he had a personality. LOL
So glad we stopped in, for a late night snack, catch a game or one heck of a great sandwich stop in and enjoy. Since I have had that sandwich all I have been wanting to do is go back for another. Memorable....
This Flanigan's is pretty cool. Very chill and laid back. The service here is great and I love that each individual that works there makes it a point to make your meal awesome.
I wish they had better beer on tap. I always end up drinking shock top because that's all I like that they have in stock. I'm not lowering my standards for any one!
Their rib racks are always amazing. So tender they fall off the bone. The garlic rolls are so gooey! I just love all that garlic parm sauce! If you're in the mood for a thick an juicy steak go for their Prime rib and get it medium rare. Don't be a puss! Steaks aren't made to eat well done.
The chicken wings are so good. I love them all crunchy and what not. dont miss out on the deep fried shrimp either. I wish they had oysters though.
If you're with a group of 3 or more get the Banzai Brownie. Kit-Kat fans rejoice!
I've been to the Flanigan's in Doral and these restaurants almost don't feel like the same place. Doral's service is meh and the energy is low. But this Flanigan's has high energy and the service is always great!
Food-wise, you go there knowing what to expect and they always deliver. They do a great job getting the order right and making the food taste great. Also, the drink specials are awesome. I like the fact that there is a bar section and a dining section so if you feel like continuing the party after dinner you can go to the bar. I usually go here really late on the weekends and it's a great bar/restaurant to end your night. The darts are fun too!
The food is GREAT, the prices are low, the drinks are good, the service is fast and nice enough, and the bartenders tend to remember you and hook you up a bit, (which is ALWAYS a reason alone to go back time and time again)!!
I have to admit, the first zillion times I came I only went because it was the closest bar and it was open when I got out of work, I refused to try the food because I figured it would be sketch. OH MAN was I wrong, now I actually go there JUST to eat, I don't care if I'm in the mood for drinks or not. I really do think the food is yummy, the nachos, the rib rolls, the ribs, the sandwiches etc etc.... I haven't made it to desserts yet so that will have to be a specific mission on its own and I will update ya!
One of the great perks of city living - a bar within stumbling distance. That's Flanigan's for me and the BF.
This is my kinda place. Huge round bar makes for a super lively atmosphere, cheap drink specials, tasty bar food, fun peeps. LOVE IT, in fact, wish I could escape there for a beer right about now... but I digress.
The fishing decor is campy, but has its charms. And they have tons of TVS lining the walls. Anywhere you sit at their round bar, you've got some sports in plain view. Nice.
Food is pretty greasy, and generally good. Seasoned curly fries, my fave, and the garlic rolls, OMG. They literally ooze grease and butter, but they're oh-so-tasty.
Don't forget the specials, they have crazy awesome specials on different nights. Free wings with a pitcher of beer, free nachos with a pitcher of beer ... etc.
Love Flanigan's, and especially love them since I know I'll never have to utilize a DD to get there or find a parking spot. :)
And this is where you are more likely to find me during football season...college and NFL alike. I happened to be there last night with good friends when the SAINTS DESTROYED the Pats, which also happened to be their Mexican night (you get a platter of their amazing Nachos with the purchase of a pitcher), and I honestly couldn't have been a happier camper :)
Keep in mind this is a Sports joint, so come here for bar grub and not really for dining (although I've seen all types, from families to high class ladies enjoying a couple of Martinis). Regardless their service is pretty stellar. I usually enjoy sitting at the bar better because I can yell louder and be more obnoxious, but both bartenders and servers are usually very pleasant and efficient. During college football season they have $1.50 pints, so come ready to pile them up.
Wednesday nights are their Winging Weds, essentially same idea as Mexican nights, but with wings. Its rowdy, its dirty, its a bit tacky, it's just my favorite sports bar in town.
On my last night in Miami my lil sis took me and the fam to Flanigan's. Now being the fly guy that I am I was just a lil turned off by the spot because of the music but once we found a seat /table since we could find room at the bar for our party of five.
Our waitress was really cool and hooked us up with the deal of the night. Buy a pitcher of what ever and get a free Nacho! Boy-I-tell-you-what! Them NACHOS were huge! Â Plus delicious and enough for 5. I could of had another one but we had like 2 orders of these things they call dolphin fingers(don't worry its not really dolphin I hope). These bad boys come out hot and still cooking I think with your choice of tartar sauce or ranch dressing. The Buffalo wings are the business as well! You can get them on the bone or no bone! How hot is that!
We even had dessert. Now hold on to your belts for this one because I know you're full. Now picture this a sunday tower build on a warm chocolate brownie foundation, two stories of vanilla icecream, held up with pillars of kit-kat bars, a whip cream penthouse, and a light melted chocolate chip garden to surround the whole structure!
I know I know you feel a lil fat after something like that. I reccomend that you don't eat it by yourself!
When I need a late night adventure in Miami next time I'm there I'm going to Flanigan's !
now this is a good bar with really good food. I actually prefer to go here to eat rather then drink....well, ok, ok, I'll do both. this is really a sportsbar-y bar with televisions everywhere and the general tone of the place being pretty darn loud.
they have pretty good drink specials and although they don't have any fancy beers on tap, they do have a varied enough selection so it's worthwhile if you're a beer drinker. bartenders and wait staff are nice but always pretty busy as I've never seen this place empty.
I know that a lot of people have reviewed the food as being average - but I would disagree. they have a large menu with a fair amount of choices. their salads are good, their sandwiches (particularly the chicken philly and the cheese steak) tasty, pretty great hot wings, and their burgers are pretty kick-ass (and big) - plus their seasoned fries rock. but the best thing they have to offer are their baby back ribs...literally falling off the bone, so tender, not too much sauce, always ALWAYS just right - some of the best ribs at a non-bbq place in all of south florida.
If you want a $4 cosmo during happy hour, go to Flanigan's. Â If you want to eat, go anywhere else. Â
The two stars are for the cheap good drinks and the trivial pursuit cards on the tables that kept my husband and me entertained for the half hour we spent waiting for our friend to show up. Â
I have severe dairy allergies, so I was worried when I noticed that not only was everything on the menu drenched in butter or cheese, but on the back of the menu it says "don't ask because we won't modify any item on the menu," or something to that effect. Â So despite the warning I made my case to the waiter. Â He told me to order the ribs, they don't have any butter, I said I don't eat red meat. Â This continued, and after going through the menu and asking the kitchen if they could possibly cook several of the dishes in olive oil rather than butter, and having them refuse, I chose the seared ahi tuna. Â It was bad. That's basically all I can say about it. Â It was dry and just plain bad. Â
So my suggestion is, go for happy hour, read all the trivial pursuit cards, and then eat at home.
This is one of my favorite bars to hang out at! Â It's 3 blocks from my house, which is perfect walking/stumbling distance! Â :)
The happy hour specials are always great. Â The servers have all been there a while, know the menu, are helpful, and very friendly! Â Most of them make it a point to recognize you when you return, remember your drink, etc. Â
Happy hour does get packed, so be prepared to look for parking and wait for a drink, but you will always run into someone you know!!!
The food is always really good - from salads to burgers (they have an awesome Cesar salad burger - YUM!), to steak and seafood (their specialty), you never leave there disappointed.
They also do random specials throughout the week. Â For example, on Tuesdays, you get free wings when you order a pitcher of beer! Â Who can resist? Â No wonder everyone becomes a Regular!!!
