As an adult (NOT old!)... I enjoy going to the movies without having to wait in line to rush into the theater and grab crappy seats. Â I prefer paying a little bit extra, to reserve the exact seat I want, and then walk in a few minutes before it starts. Â
Oh, and don't forget the beer/wine/food in your hand while you watch.
It's a step down from the elaborate CineBistro... making it just right for everyday movies (as opposed to "splurging" for a special premiere)
I have been here a few times and never had a good experience. On the weekends it is crazy busy, and I don't like to be charged $2 extra for the good seats.
Crowds and cost aside, the preselected seat model does not seem to work very well. It encourages people to come late to the movie. Like 10 min after the film has started people are still climbing down the full rows to find their seats, fumbling, and spilling food on people. These distractions make me cranky. Â I prefer when people who come in late just find seats at the ends of rows or in the front and don't bother everyone. That's just me, but I rarely show up late movies. If I did, then having preselected seats would be a terrific convenience.
On top of the usual chaos, the last time I came to this theatre there was mayhem because they accidentally sold seats to multiple people. The attendant spent a good deal of time dealing with these discrepancies. But ten minutes into the movie once people were seated and catching up on the plot, yet another couple came into the theatre to find that their seats were sold to someone else. This sucked for me because I had to listen to them as they tried to understand that no one "stole" their seats and for them because they didn't have seats waiting for them.
Based on my experiences I give this theatre two stars purely for their location, the fact that they have a bar, and their comfy seats. The only reason I ever come here is for its convenient location near some great restaurants.
Perhaps if it is not a busy night (aka if you go during the week) this theatre is wonderful, but on the weekends it is not what I would call a pleasant moviegoing experience.
