I've never actually been here BUT my buddy Jeremy tends bar there and he's pretty awesome so I have to assume that this pub is also awesome. If you're a dude reading this and you run into Jeremy here you should give him a high-five for me. If you're a hot babe than you should kiss him on the mouth.

I have been going to Flowing Tide for at least 15 years and they consistently have good service, great food, and an excellent beer selection.  When I was young and childless I used to enjoy the happy hour a couple of times a week. Now that I have a family, we go less often, but we all enjoy it.  The burgers are great, their fries are some of the best in town and the nachos are huge and delicious.  Plus, they always have a hard cider on tap which I appreciate.  I have never had a bad meal or bad service at this location in 15 years!

Food is mouth watering! I've now been in several times for lunch and I will be back! I always order the Philly cheese steak ? Made with creamcheese, absolutely delicious! It is also served on a toasted Dutch crunch roll!) my lady always gets the buffalo chicken wrap ( they offer tomato, spinach or flour tortilla. Also very good) the fries are to die for! So tasty and perfectly crunchy! Not to mention tons of beers on tap! Oh ya!

The spaghetti was the terrible. I repeat terrible. Terrible! How do you mess up spaghetti? Even prego with 90 cent noodles is edible. We were in a rush and because the spaghetti was inedible, we had to make a peanut butter and bagel sandwich in the back of our car so the people who ordered it didn't go hungry for the next 8 hours. Way to let us down in a pinch.

2 stars instead of 1 because my cobo wrap was good.

Hands down the best happy hour in Reno.  2 pm to 6pm and 10pm to midnight... half off drinks and $5 appetizers, the half order of nachos is $5 and its huge, I can't even imagine a full order.  The Shipwreck is fun if you have a group. :)
We're regulars here for sure.  Love the nautical atmosphere, love the food, servers are friendly and fast, and they always have the right game on somewhere.
Check those big blue envelopes of coupons you get in the mail and you'll find a buy one entree get one free every month.

Everytime I  go I make some crazy specialized order, and every time the server is polite and patient and the food is exactly how I ordered it.  I don't care for the fried fish appetizer platter, but other than that one dish I have never ordered something I didn't eat every last morsel of.

What I like the best about this location is the pirate they have hanging from the ceiling.  There is seating for the booth lovers, the table diners, and the bar goers.

The waitress brought us menus right away but took her time getting water and drink orders.  When I did finally get my order placed I ordered Joe's special which is two eggs scrambled with spinach, seasoned ground beef, and sautéed mushrooms but I substituted diced tomatoes for mushrooms because I'm not a fan of the fungus variety.  I also ordered a child size pancakes.  My dining buddy ordered the breakfast burrito which has eggs, peppers, tomatoes, ham, onions, cheese, and potatoes (wrapped in a tortilla of course!)  Joe's special was $6.99, the pancakes were $3.49, and the bfast burrito was $6.99.

Joe's special was delicious and it was packed with ground beef; they didn't cheap me on the meat at all!  The pancakes were served with cold syrup which I didn't like because it make my pancake cold and I like my pancakes warm!  Other than that the pancake was cooked perfectly and tasted great.  The breakfast burrito was big and had all the appropriate condiments (sour cream, guacamole, and salsa) and it tasted just as good as it looked.

Besides the service being a little slow and the syrup being cold, the breakfast at Flowing Tide is good and not too expensive to boot.  I say give this place a try but not if you're on a time schedule as the service is slow (and they weren't busy either!).

First time going to the Flowing Tide.  Have to admit we were a little nervous since it was rather dark inside.  Waitress was quick to our table and very pleasant.  The plan was to drink a couple beers and try some happy hour then have a main course.  First great choices in beers.  I started with a Stella and then a Sam Adams Summerfest.  We then ordered wings and nachos.  Very pleasantly surprised with the order sizes.  After our apetizers we were stuffed.  We will definitly be coming back.  Not to mention two happy hours ... score.

Set up is different than the one on Longley. Plus I don't get to see Laurie's smiling face. But the service is awesome,  and the food is great.

THE TIDE! I have been visiting my family for four days now and I have been to the tide four times! The atmosphere is awesome, the staff is always great, and our bartender Steve is the best ever! He takes care of us every time we come in. He even made up a new shot for me one night that I was having a super bad night and it was like the shot for me, dubbed the Kayla shot, literally. You can ask for it only from Steve. :)

I love the food too. They have a great quesadilla, their fries are fantastic, and their chicken parmesan sandwich is my favorite!

I enjoy sitting at the bar, playing poker, trying to get a three of a kind of anything in order to spin the wheel of party time ! If you hit the magic hand you get to press this big button to spin a wheel and you try to win money or the promo of the night. Last night it was $100 bucks, and I tried, but failed. Not my night for gambling apparently.

It also has the lovely jukebox that most bars have and when we are in their, it is taken over and we start dancing and singing. It is fun!

I love this bar and I will probably be back there tonight! Maybe I will see you there ! ;)

Really good wings, beer and FRIES.  These could be the best fries I've ever had.  A great place to watch the game as well.

Even though they took my favorite sandwich off the menu a while ago they still get a lot of my business.  Try the tuna melt as its a very good sandwich.  Their fries are awesome as well.

Bring back the hot pastrami though.  It was the best in town.

This place is great. It's your friendly local pub serving really good pub food. The half order on nachos for happy hour is huge! As well as yummy. We also had the hot wings and they were perfect. The drink specials are fantastic and the staff is friendly and attentive. Awesome place to go get some grub and a drink, we will be back!

I love this place!! The staff is friendly and up beat. The food is really good and they have lots more then typical bar food.  They can get busy so I don't  recommend that you go hear if your in a hurry.  But if you have the time the wait is worth it.  My favorite things here are the penne sunsetta, the Crab melt, California green salad, French onion soup, clam strips and Nachos.
They have 2 happy hours with $5 appetizers and 50% drinks from 2pm-6pm and then 10pm to 12am. Also Val-pack some times has buy one get one coupons for entrees.

I've been here twice now and this place is alright.

I had the Apple Gorgonzola Salad with Steak. The steak was pretty tough but the salad itself was pretty good. I would recommend not eating anything other than fried bar fare. Next time I'd stick to their fried zucchini wheels.

Drinks are good and prices are fair. They do have a pretty good happy hour, 50% off drinks during normal happy hour hours and then a late happy hour from 10pm - midnight. All in all, ok. Not the best scene, but I don't know how judgmental I should be about that considering it was a Wednesday night.

I usually come here almost every week or every other week.. nice place to chill with friends and watch a game.. sip on a beer.. and for something special we always try and take down a shipwreck =P overall i cant say anything wrong about this place unless theres bad music. Happy Hour is the best..since there's 2 happy hours..and food is alot better at night with a beer!

Let's  start by saying I expect to get poor service here.  My friends like to come here after work so I end up here a lot.  I like their food.  I have had the bacon blue cheese burger several times.  I also like the crab melt.  It is real crab.  Their happy hour menu is pretty good.  I also like their kids menu.  I order to go kids spaghetti and it feeds both of my kids.

On several occasions I had to hunt down the waitress because I had to leave.  Once she ignored me for 10 minutes so I asked my friend to cover my bill and I would pay her back.  Right after I left the waiters finally came running yelling that I had not paid.  My friend said I know, I am paying for her.  I would have paid the waitress directly if she would have come all the times I waved her down or called her name.  So to make a long story short, go with lots of time, low service expectations and you will be good.

    Yarrrrrrr!

I wish Yelp had the same language setting as Facebook so I could get this entire review translated into pirate speak, because honestly I have no idea what the hell they say. I'm more of a ninja girl myself (yes, ninjas would win).

So the other night, the last time I checked in, the S.O. and I had made ourselves dinner, ate dessert, and fixed each others drinks. This all ended around like, 6pm, because daylight savings time sucks. Notice I said ENDED - this means we ate dinner at some geriatric time because...we are sad.

So around 10 we're like, "Hey! Let's go out and act like normal people, yeah?" yeah...okay. At least we got there RIGHT at 10 because they were doing the half-off second happy hour - which is GREAT because we're also cheap. The place seemed to be a happening spot, some guy was throwing up in the parking lot who was clearly misinterpreting the phrase "40 is the new 30," and people were having fun. Their burgers are alright, and they have sweet potato fries. The potstickers - yeah, we got potstickers - are deep fried and nothing like you'd get at a Chinese restaurant, so...I don't know why you would be expecting that, but there's my warning for the day.

Let's go through this tl;dr, okay?

    1. Ninjas will always win
    2. From 10pm-12am they have a second happy hour.
    3. Potstickers are deep fried and not like you'd get at a chinese restaurant.
    4. I am old.
    5. Sweet potato fries.

Flowing Tide is awesome.  We eat here about once a week or so.

My favorites are the salads with steak or chicken on top.

Service is always really quick and friendly and the waitresses usually remember us.  Prices are fine.  Being pregnant and therefore insatiably thirsty ALL the time, I appreciate the gigantic water/lemonade glasses they have.

All in all, this is my favorite restaurant in the north west Reno area.

    * happy hour review only *

$3.25 pints of sam white (seasonal).  $2 off any appetizer.  the appetizers are huge.  the plates of wings are fairly sizable.  the quesadilla is also egantic.  the tacos were decent.  the nachos were pretty damn huge too.  basically everything appetizer is worth it for $2 off.  i think even for regular price it'd be worth it.

but i can't say the food is like "god damn im coming back just for the food" but for this deal, i will definitely come back.  i would say its better than average bar/pub food.

This is a great place for good pub fare.  I've never tried anything here that I didn't like.  Their onion rings are especially good, and Husband loves the fried clam strips.  The atmosphere is really nice, with lots and lots of TVs and classy decor.  I agree with previous reviewers that the service is touch and go--I've had good and bad.  I do think it's one of the best places to eat in this corner of town.

The best thing about Flowing Tide are the deals.  They have a great happy hour with $2 off all of their tasty and huge appetizers.  Also, they always have a coupon in the Valu-Pak for buy one entree get one free--we never spend a whole lot here.

This place is just OK. Nothing here stands out and it's just like any other bar. The food isn't too bad though, and the drink selection is decent. It's usually packed on the weekends and the service is horrible.

I had dinner there 3 nights ago. The one at the south end of town is much nicer!

    The food was OK.

The waitress was TERRIBLE (2nd time I've had awful service there). And the table was so dirty & gross & sticky. Even after asking for a rag to wipe it down, it still stayed sticky & the table next to it was the same.

Their waitresses need a wake up call to give better service & the place needs a good cleaning.

Flowing Tide has a HUGE HUGE HUGE variety of food on their menu.  It's amazing what all you can find there - burgers, sandwiches, pasta, salad, seafood, etc.  Everything that I've had here has been good.  But it does take a while to make (maybe because the kitchen itsy is bitsy!)
Inside is a pretty typical pub setting with booths and tables, but there is a kind of sea pirate feel to it (to match the name....)  Everything is clean and the service is pretty fast for the amount of tables each waitress gets.  The waitresses seem to stick around there for a while, so if you go often enough, you'll get to know some of them.

Part of a chain of three restaurants in Reno Nevada.  The best one I've been to is the FTP III (On Longley Lane) but this location is the original Flowing Tide Pub.

this is a popular joint with University Of Nevada students, so I've been told.
