Great Place. My date had the Crab Stuffed Sole. It was excellent. I had the Meatloaf. It was really different and very good. Our compliments to the chef.

Went for lunch.  Hubby got the brisket sandwich, which he thought was to die for - had a good kick of chipotle and was topped with slaw.  I split the crab cake appetizer and mac and cheese w/my daughter.  Both were good.  The mac and cheese is a grown up version with a variety of cheeses and panko crumbs on the top.  I was so excited to see that they have two wines from two fabulous wineries - Caymus and Cakebread.  Will definately go back for a glass of wine and dessert.

Went for an "Anniversary" with Hubby, it was our dating anniversary.  Pretty much anything I can do to get him to a nice dinner.  It was exactly as I expected, laid back and yummy.  The decor was great, modern and sleek.
Joe our waiter was excellent, suggested a perfect wine and honored a salad that SAID came with it, but it really didn't, which he explained.
I had the Chicken Saltimbocca with the Lyonnaise Potatoes very yummy. Husband had the Philly Steak sandwhich, that was AMAZING.  OH! Forgot the Fried Dill Pickle app with cheese and crackers, the cheese and cracker were good, BUT I feel like I had the same at home, not super special.
The BIG finish though was the DESSERT!!  Husband had the Lemon Cake? I think it was called, the texture and taste were perfect.  I had the Turtle Cheesecake OMFG! Texture, creamy, not over sweet JUST PERFECT!!
All in all I'll go back but maybe skip the entree and go for a sandwhich, pasta, or pizza and DEFINITELY dessert and wine!

Went there for lunch today (July 2011).  The place was busy, but we were seated right away.  The food was fine, but took forever - a couple of sandwiches and a burger).  We arrived shortly after noon, but didn't get out of there until about 20 after 1.  If you are in a hurry for lunch you might want to try the bagel place on the corner.
The atmosphere was loud.  Not a lot of people, but I'm guessing just the acoustics of the place.  I felt like I was shouting just to talk to the person across the table from me.
The food was a little more expensive then I would like to pay ($10 for a burger and fries, or a $10 ham and cheese sandwich)  FYI - the fries are cooked in peanut oil.  The waiter made sure to tell us before we ordered.

Went for lunch with my mom.

Nice place.  Great handblown glassware.  Amazeballs service - sit in Sheryl's section.  She's a real peach, attentive without being pushy, knowledgeable and no bullshit.

Food was good.  Mom had the ahi tuna sando - in true midwestern style, they put a great dill mayo on the bun, which really upped the flavor.  I had the seafood linguine, which was alright - a little heavy on the calamari and a little light on the shrimps, but tasty and a generous portion.  Decently priced for the portion size and quality of cooking / service - about forty bucks for two entrees with salads, a coffee and a dessert, but we both had leftovers for lunch the next day =)

Decent place to take the madre.  Great dessert too - we shared an Italian citrus cake that was creamy and spongy and just terrific.  I'll be back, no doubt.

Ok, this is NOT the place for a quiet dinner.  One of the noisiest places I've been.  The iPad wine menu was unique.  The food got mixed reviews.  The potato crust on the whitefish had no flavor and overwhelmed the small piece of whitefish underneath it.  The fish had skin on it so diner's plate looked horrid when she picked away the dark flesh and skin.  Whitefish is supposed to be the chef's delight because of its low cost.  Recommend you lose the hash brown crust and amp up the portion size.

The $7 Woodward salad was fantastic.  Although I expected a side salad for the price, it was a full entry size which would have been a great bargain for lunch or dinner.  I had an entree coming so way too much salad for me.  Another diner had the filet medallions and they were excellent.  The crab cakes, nothing special at all.  We shared the pineapple cheesecake dessert and liked it.

Overall, I was expecting and hoping this place might be a regular stop close to home.  The noise factor would certainly keep us from dining out with friends.  Please Mr. Owner, do something about the noise level.

My husband and I went to the Fox Grill on a Saturday night. We didn't have a reservation and there was a 20-30 minute wait. We sat at the bar and chatted with the very friendly bartender (who makes darn good drinks, I must say) and the wait was no more than 20 minutes.

We were seated in the dining room and were the youngest people there by 20+ years (we're in our mid-30s). Our waiter wasn't the friendliest...actually he seemed a little awkward and not too familiar with the menu. We tried not to let this deter us and still had high hopes for our meal.

We started with the steak bites, which were served in a chipotle oil and the "famous" (not sure how it can be famous since they've only been open a month or so) zip sauce. The flavors clashed and the meat was very grisly and over cooked. I only had one of the bites...figured, why waste the calories?

I ordered the potato encrusted whitefish, which is one of my favorite things to order at a restaurant. I was very disappointed in the dish! It was nothing more than whitefish topped with hash browns. There was a lemon Dijon sauce, but there was very little on my plate. The fish was bland and the hash browns made the dish just seem odd.

My husband ordered the penne with chicken, basil cream sauce and sun dried tomatoes. Sounded delicious...but not quite so. There was an over abundance of sauce, which was very bland and overpowered by cream. The chicken was over salted and hard to eat. I don't think he ate half of his dinner,

We really wanted to like Fox Grill, but the missteps on the food had us scratching our heads and leaving hungry. We will try it again in six months or so, once they've worked out the kinks in the kitchen. They seem to have some good happy hour drink/food specials, so maybe we'll try that. I'll be sure to write an update on our next visit.

I guess I cannot fully rate this place without ever having actually gone INSIDE. For now, I can only rate my carry-out so graciously brought back to me by a co-worker last week.

I was given a menu a couple weeks ago. I declined to order after I saw the prices, which I felt were a bit too steep for my Friday 30-minute lunch break at my desk by myself without the relaxing atmosphere and some friendly company. My co-worker said she was getting the mac 'n cheese. I glanced at the menu. Ten bucks for mac 'n cheese? I'll pass today, thanks!

She brought it back and I went to her desk to see what was a rather large portion of mac 'n cheese. She let me have a bite and wow, it was pretty good. I decided that next time, maybe I will partake.

So the opportunity presented itself again. I told my friend and cube-neighbor that So-and-So was going to Fox Grill to get me this awesome mac 'n cheese and offered her to share. I said that the portion was so large that it was certainly more than enough to share. I was exited, and so was my cube-neighbor.

Just as I was getting so hungry that I wondered what I might have in my desk drawer to munch on (stale Pepperidge Farm cookies, a couple of Werther's candies, a salt packet) until THE mac 'n cheese's arrival, my co-worker came by with my order. I looked in the bag  and beneath the transparent container, I could already see it.

You know that two-note sad horn sound that happens when there's a dilemma on Sesame Street? That's what I heard in my head as I saw the sad portion I received. It was pathetically floating around the bottom of the seemingly way-too-large container. Mind you, this was the very same container I had previously seen sitting on my co-worker's desk a couple weeks ago, and with a fairly generous portion.

Needless to say, I was a little bummed, and sorta regretting the offer to share it with my neighbor. LOL. But, I am a woman of my word, and I still split it with her.

That said, the mac 'n cheese is really, really good. And for some consolation, I also did receive a small side salad with some sort of field greens, croutons and a tomato wedge. My co-worker apologized for the small portion; I think she felt guilty for the good portion she had received in the past, and that she had since suggested it to me, haha.

Maybe I'll try them again, eating in this time, but probably reluctantly.

Tried this new spot for lunch on Friday. Overall, we had a very good experience.

Location is in the plaza on the site of the old Fox and Hounds restaurant at the corner of Woodward and Long Lake.

The waiter left us an iPad which served as the wine list. The wait for our food was a little lengthy yet the service was friendly and attentive.

I had the brisket sandwich and is was real nice. Tender beef brisket with smoky chipotle sauce, melted cheddar, and a small dose of the vinegar-dressed slaw.

My lunch partners and I agreed that this place deserves a return visit.
