I happened upon this location because my friend lives nearby and all TeX Mex restaurants close early in her hood. Â I gave her some advice and said move to Dallas where things don't close so early. Â We were on a search for a beerita in her neighboring area. Â We happened up Frankie's they were open late and nearby. Â We found a seat easily and the service was decent. Â The place was moderately packed and the place seemed to thin out around 11pm. Â
The beerita my friend was dying to was decent and she left the bar tipsy that's for sure. Â I will tell you they serve ice cold PBR on Tuesday nights. Â I had a few beers and we ordered a simple appetizer. Â We had chips and salsa and it was nothing to write home about. Â The salsa was pretty basic and your garden variety pace type stuff. Â
I think the smoking is what sucks the most. Â They have ample parking and service is decent. Â I'm no fan of smoking unless it's in cologne form.
ok, this was probably the worst experience in dining I've eever had. Â 1. Â the place is filled with smoke. 2. Â the wait staff is less than friendly. Â 3. Â We ordered our meal (4 of us) at 7pm. Â one of us got their burger at 7:30; next in our group got their nachos at 7:45; next of us got their pizza at 8:15. Â At 8:30 the waitress told me my pizza would be out soon. Â at 8:30 I said forget my meal, and give me my check. Â At 8:40 I got my check and she tried to charge me for th pizza and fries I NEVER got!
AWFUL!
I came here with some friends on a Saturday Night to see the UFC fight. Maybe that's a reason why i didn't think to much of it. It was pretty crowded. The table we were sitting at was a covered pool table with crappy chairs around it. It was hard to get in and out to use the restroom since the space was very narrow. The service was nothing out of the ordinary. As far as the atmosphere, it was pretty loud like a sports bar. There was more than plenty of parking since it was located near a shopping center. I guess if your into the loud crowd, this is definitely a place to go. As for me, i probably wouldn't return.
Review Source:What shit service. We got here at 6:15 for a couple of beers and game of pool. We didn't get served for the first 10 minutes and when we do, she seems pissed were in her station. We play a few games of pool and are on our second beer when we ask what the cheese, tomatoes and other condiments are for. She says they have taco happy hour til 7:00...it's 7:05. Instead of saying sorry I thought you knew, she said if we came here more often we'd know about the damn tacos! Can you sense my frustration? I'm not hungry enough to eat a big meal but a few damn tacos would've been nice. And when I joke and ask if I can eat the condiments she gets another waitress to take them away. Bullshit service and lackadaisical staff = two damn stars!!!
Review Source:I wish places didn't allow smoking inside because then I would sit inside and not have stuff taste like an ashtray. Â This is why I give this place 2 stars, so MUCH SMOKE! Â The hummus and pita chips were really good, the fried green beans were awesome, and the spinach crawfish dip was average. Â The drinks were pretty good, and there are PLENTY OF TVs. Â This is a definitely a sports bar, so if you need to watch a game, come here.
Review Source:I can never seem to get into this place. I've been probably a dozen times, mostly on free pizza night, hence the 3 stars. But, for the most part, I'm not really a fan. The beers are overpriced most of the week, especially for the area, and the menu, while huge, is just too much for the place to handle. Better to specialize in something and it all be great, than to have too many things, and everything just be ok.
Review Source:Second time here, and Frankie was just like I remembered.
The service is probably 4 stars, as our waitress was mostly attentive and the manager or owner came by our table to see how we were doing. Everything came out fast as well.
But I've come to the conclusion the food is somewhere in the 2.5 stars range. Everything sounds way better than it actually tastes, and I don't know about you, but my ears don't have taste buds. I do kinda like the salsa (too tomato-ey, but they give you a huge amount and it has some kick), but not anything else. Quiznos makes a better beef dip, and the casear salad had wayyyyy too much salt/dressing/cheese for my taste.
Prices were OK, except for the $10 margarita that was the size of a Yahtzee shaker. Also don't like the smoke and wish they would have put the sound for the Mavs game on during the ring ceremony.
Anyway, overall, I'd recommend it as a place to hang out with the buddies, but definitely not for date night or anything.
My boyfriend and I attend this bar regularly for games and just as a usual hangout. The best aspect of this place is for sure the abundance of TV's with all games playing on them. They set up signs under each tv to let you know what game will be playing on it and when so you can sit near a tv with your game on it. Being Chargers fans, we were really excited to find a bar that had our game playing!
A second big plus is the atmosphere. A lot of times at other bars, it seems like a rivalry between fans and people can be really hostile. Here it seems like except for the one typical obnoxious over cheering person, everyone is in high spirits and happy to interact with each other. Even when there are no games on, it's easy to make friends here.
Yes, they allow smoking inside the bar and for many that can be annoying. I quit smoking 4 months ago and particularly like it, but there are other places to go if you don't like that. It is a sports bar after all.
The waitstaff can be a little slow sometimes and some are void of personality, but there are several really great waitresses there.
The management is attentive and friendly and always working just as hard as the other staff. I have watched them buss tables, serve drinks, work the bar and clean up. They will come by and say hello and make sure you are happy with everything.
The food is pretty great for all the things I have tried. The Walter Payton wings are pretty amazing. I don't like spicy foods, so they are a great sweet alternative to buffalo sauce. They serve brunch here on the weekends from 11:00-3:00 with $2 mimosas and a great bloody Mary bar setup. I have been trying to find a brunch place forever! Â
Overall, this place is lively, clean, friendly and fun. Â Give it a try!
This is a review for their food. I had their caesar salad today during gameday.
The food here is pretty atrocious. It was overcooked and bland. The greens were dressed alright. A little too much parmesan for me.
I guess that's because i ordered the caesar salad. It really wasn't worth $10 for a chicken caesar. I'll try to find something better to eat next week during NFL week 3.
The environment makes up for it. The bar environment is electrifying and exciting when it is an NFL sunday. I really enjoy the comfy chairs and the friendly wait staff. They're very helpful and courteous.
I had to think really hard on a rating for this place because I see so much potential. Â For one, there are plenty of TV screens and unlike some bars with as many, they managed to space out the sports evenly. Â Some places will have a hundred TV's but only have a certain game on 2 in the back corner. Not here, good distribution and programming management.
The feedback I got on the food (ate before I came) was positive, not great, but positive. The nachos looked fantastic. Â I wished I had tried them. Â Our service was good most of the time. Â
Now the first knock on this place is that it's a smoking establishment which is no secret if you read any of the reviews positive or negative. Â Yes, I know that Lewisville does not have a no-smoking ordinance as I'm a non-smoker and use to live in that hell hole but it's still a negative if ventilation is bad. Â So I'm going to make it a part of the review as I've been to bars that allow smoking and not been bothered by it. Â So it's part of the rating, period. Â I found the ventilation system somewhat adequate at first as it wasn't as bad as some bars that allow smoking. I've been to bars in Ft Worth where the smoke was so bad, I had to immediately leave. Â I even frequent a smoking establishment in North Texas and it wasn't this bad. Â However, the biggest smoking knock on this place was not for the cigarette smoke, but the Cigar smoke. So minus 1.5 stars for allowing overweight middle aged men to puff on stinky cigars. There's a reason most bars ban cigars. Â It's not impressive, it's nauseating. Â All 3 of these idiots look like they were a cheeseburger away from a heart attack. I would have given this place 3 had it not been for the cigars, and a 4 if it were a little less smokey.
I wonder what Frankie envisioned when he was making his sports bar and grill... Maybe lackluster food or maybe waitresses who think there hot shit but look like crack whores?
Did Frankie wake up one day and say, "You know, maybe I'll continue to allow people to smoke like a chimney in my establishment while people eat my crappy food... Hopefully that will help mask my subpar bar food taste?" Frankie... if you're dead... you must have turned in your grave about 1 billion times if you didn't want this to happen to your chain of sports bar and grills. Â But Frankie... if you're still alive... order a noose and stool from <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2FAmazon.com&s=60e7c1d17ec1c8362999f69b5791e02482fddb677ddc238da7418daf522574ae" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://Amazon.com</a> STAT!
2 Star Rating:
- People smoke indoors while you eat... imagine how a cigarette burger would taste like. It's possible here.
- Food was as good as being the recipient of a Bukakke
- Service was on the same level as watching scrambled porn... pathetic.
- Waitresses have more attitude than call girls in L.A.
Why not 1 star?
- TV's everywhere.
- Yokozuna Burger Challenge (4lb burger with 1lb of fries under 30 min).
I happened to be here twice in one week back to back; one of a work happy hour, second stopped for dinner on the way to an event.  Both  times service was very slow and the second time it wasn't even crowded.  What's the deal??
Had the grilled chicken nachos = good and the Hawaii Five-O pizza = really good.
Tons of TV's and unfortunately it's a smoking establishment. Â I prefer the one on McKinney Ave in Dallas (but the parking there does suck).
One thing that caught my eye was they have a KwikBoost station to charge your cell phones, pretty cool. (<a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.kwikboost.com&s=9aa8e092f6dcff516b82de20af2dd2f48520cfe8c12b59dd4577ada829151cfc" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.kwikboost.com</a>)
Yum!
Bloody mary bar stinkin rocks. Â Great views of TV's, we came here for a play off game on one of the first snowy sundays of the season. It was still busy and we had great service.
Food isn't bad also, but we had some traditional items that you can't really mess up, so I'll update about the food.
Want to try the other location in Dallas, as I hear their food is pretty decent. Â Will be back soon!
Pro: LOTS of TVs! Everywhere you look, there's a different game! LOVE IT
BIG CON: coming from California, it bothered me that you can smoke inside of the bar. My clothes smell.. GROSS.
If it weren't for the smoking, I'd give this place 4 stars.
The food and drink selection was pretty good. I had the Texan Sliders which were pretty tasty. The spicy BBQ sauce and the caramelized onions gave it a nice touch.
Next time, I'll remember to bring my gas mask then everything will be A-OK! haha
Most of the bad reviews appear to be a sack of morons that complain about the fact they allow smoking. Â That's like grocery shopping at Fiesta and complaining that all they have is Mexican stuff.
FACT: it's a sports bar, in a city w/o a no-smoking ordinance. they have lots of tvs. place is huge. average food. decent/friendly service. that simple.
Stopped in here about 10:30 on  a Saturday night with a few friends.  We drove up and place looked pretty busy.  Opened the door and place had the worst cigarette smoke I had smelled in a long time.  I used to be a smoker so I usually don't get bothered, but this place was bad.  Had a few beers and took off.  Other than that the place seemed alright.  Sports bar prices, plenty of T.V.s, and decent service.  I was surprised that the crowd seemed to be quite a bit older than I expected, but I wasn't there for any reason but to drink and hang out with friends.
Review Source:Molly and I haunt this place regularly during football season.
We have tried most of their menu and the food is consistently good and the drinks aren't too expensive.
The burgers are cooked to order. I got the "Patriot" burger, which is your basic cheeseburger and added bacon. For something different, I would recommend the Oyster Shooters. And be sure to ask about the soup. I've tried their corn chowder, chili and clam chowder and all have been good. Usually I will order the pizza. They serve it thin crust style with your choice of toppings and if you request crispy it will come out with the perfect crunch.
This is a sports bar and the food is typically upscale bar food. But it's good for what it is. Be prepared for people yelling for their sports teams and - I know this is a problem for a lot of people - be prepared for cigarette and cigar smoke. They have a very good ventilation system but you will still encounter smoke.
If you see us there on a Sunday wearing our "Patriots" jerseys, stop and say "Hi"!
Met a friend here for lunch yesterday.
Picked Frankie's over BJ's Brewery/Rest across the way because Frankie's carries ALL MLB games (and is the Dallas home of Red Sox Nation, according to Frankie's website). Â And BJ's doesn't carry out of market games, unless they are on nationally.
So arrived at 3 pm, just in time for the Red Sox/Mariners game. Â LOADS of BIG flat panel HD tv's! Â And a couple BIG projector tv's which were not showing in HD....hmm. Â Big screen not in HD? Â Cost a star.
Ordered the Patriot Burger with pepperjack cheese. Â The burger was great although I couldn't taste any pepperjack anything. Â Nicely served on an onion roll (don't see that too often outside the Northeast!). Â Had a couple Sam Adams Summer Ales too, cause you gotta do Boston when watching the Red Sox. Â ;)
Service was very good, speed of delivery was not (cost them a star).
We also ordered some chicken nachos which came out the same time our entrees did....NO NO!
Nachos were "blah". Â Salsa was ok. Â Not much chicken in that chicken nachos.
Great place to watch a game. Â Just remember, smoking is allowed here. Â They weren't too busy, and their AC system cleared any smoke from other patrons quick, because I never got any of it....and some people were just a few feet from me. Â Nice!
I'll be back, since I may not always make it downtown to their other location.
ch ch changes!! I've been to Frankies 1000 times since my last review so its time for an update.
I always order the Spank Me Burger with a side salad with ranch. The burger has jalapenos and pepperjack on an onion bun. Its awesome. The ranch dressing here is even better than Wingstop's if that's possible. I also like to order the Mediterranean pizza.
The best night to go to Frankies is Tuesday. They do 2.50 domestic drafts, 2 dollar Liquid Courage shots and free pizza until 7. As long as you are drinking, they are bringing you fresh slices. Then, if you stay late enough its karaoke time baby!
Frankies is full of smokers. If this bothers you, scoot your butt down to BJs or something. There is a "VIP room". I think if you are spending 500 dollars + then you can go into this private room with TVs. To me, this room doesn't really have a lot of pizazz but whatever.
Generally service here is good. They normally start a tab with a credit card and then keep the drinks flowing.
There are probably 50 TVs in this place. There is also a pretty nice little patio. I recommend Frankies for food, dates, drinks with friends, and most of all, happy hour.
This place is one of my favorite bars!
I have been several occasions and every time I have enjoyed myself. The service is great...they are always there to make sure your drinks are full and if you need anything else. The food is better than most 'bar' restaurant food.
Then on top of it all...they have sooooo many TV's you will never miss any of the games or sporting events you want to see!
I have been to Frankie's several times now and I have to say I love going there.
The food here is not your typical sports bar fare, they have oysters on the half shell, sashimi, hummus and SO much more. Their pizzas are what sets them apart in my book though.
And what makes Frankie's such a success in my mind is the service. I always try and sit at the bar where the bartenders have always been top notch, but when it is full, I have had some of the best service from the waitresses, in particular from one cute little waitress named Tamy who has a wonderful sense of humor and a great attitude.
If you find yourself driving by Frankie's, stop in. It's well worth it.
What gives with giving them a bad review b/c of people smoking?! Give the city of Lewisville a bad review, not a bar that is following the laws of the city one...on to my review!
Frankies is awesome! Good food, waitresses are attentive and lots of tvs for your game watching pleasure. If like that their menu has alot more options that your average sports bar, but its not pretentious. I will definitely be coming here more often.
