Bottom line, this place isn't worth your time. We came with 4 adults two children. The hostess tried seating us in a booth for 4, uhh no. Then we got sat in the back by kitchen, the AC was not working, we said something about the heat and the waiters response was "it's about 30 degrees hotter in the kitchen". First off, not my problem. Secondly, I'm a paying customer...there should be some level of professionalism in the way you speak. We can't all get settled quickly because they have no high chair on hand. Someone had to go into the basement to get one and it took a good ten minutes. Cue my 2 year old getting restless and cranky. The waiter finally takes our drink orders. My husband asks if the sam adams seasonal is summer ale, well cause its summer. The waiter says its a spring ale. Probably ild and nasty. i order a corona light. the drinks take forever to get to us. Why, is beyond me as there were only 3 tables eating in the restaurant at the time. The waiter brings me my corona light and says "it's not cold so I brought you a chilled glass". I looked at him confused and he said "would you like a regular corona instead?" I told him yes without trying to show any bit of emotion. At this point, I'm already turned off. We put in our appetizer order, empanadas and shrimp taquitos. The waiter says the shrimp taquitos are no longer on the menu. 3 months after opening and you're already omitting items from the menu? We order chicken quesadillas instead. The empanadas were mediocre and the quesadilla had only dark meat chicken in it. Our food comes out, and two people bring us our food. One guy goes to the other "who ordered this?" And the waiter says while chuckling "just call it out". The enchiladas in red sauce were unbearably hot that not even half was eaten. My sons chicken fingers were unusually dark. I fear that the oil they were fried in was old. The shrimp tacos were mediocre. Throughout our meal the dish washing guy kept walking through the dining area with his hands dripping with soapy water and his pants falling off his butt. We had a good view of the bar from where we were sitting and that seemed to be the area where the staff congregated, used their cellphones, and hung out. One of the bus boys asked if I was done about 20 minutes into getting my meal. Everyone at my table was still eating and I normally would have said no but I was hot (again no AC) and frustrated with the situation so I let him take it away. The only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars is because it was nicely decorated on the inside. The staff needs to be re-trained and there needs to be a manager out on the floor observing what's going on. Southern hospitality group really needs to start reading reviews in order to have a successful restaurant that will last more than a year. I give this place another 4 months before its doors are closed. And that's being generous.
Review Source:Ok I know restaurants make money on booze but this place is so light on its pours and so high on its price I left this place saying never again. Â Mt first drink came in this little Jar lloaded with ice and poured just over half way. Â I was going to say something but chose not to. Â When round two came I knew I should have spoken up the first time. Â I have paid less an got more in NYC but this is EastMeadow for Pete sakes.
So on to the food, nothing special, certainly nothing so tasty that would make us want to come back for seconds or make us look forward to trying something else. Â The crowd tonight was 4people at the bar and 4 couples in the dining room.
Considering the quality of the food and the light pour, I wont be back
I'm hoping the bad luck of this location stops here. Â It seem nothing lasts in this spot...I'm really hoping Fuego Picante has a new home here and is not like Rub and Kansas City and Ruby's.
Being a big fan of Singelton's also owned by Singh Hospitality...we thought we would give it a shot.  Being Mexican/BBQ we had  our doubts...when ever duos are in a restaurant one always falls to the waste side.  So we ordered both a Mexican dish and a BBQ dish..and we actually ended up sharing both dishes because they were so good.
Food was good....service as good....and a tequila flights...cant go wrong here!!!
We will definitely be back....and fingers crossed the curse of this location ends with Fuego Picante!
