I met up with some friends to catch a friend's co-workers performance for an event.

Some of the comedians? Hilarious. The host? Okay. The guy at the end who announced the judges decision and told off a heckler? Priceless.

$5 to get in. Decent priced drink in hand, and then lost in the comedy. I'm *really* surprised how well the staff moves seamlessly around the place - in the darkness, never forgetting an order,  delivering effortlessly - like silhouetted ghosts, effortlessly gliding about the floors.

The comics were decent last night, but not great. I am very tired of being squeezed into a tiny uncomfortable chair sharing a table with strangers. I know you are trying to turn a profit and get your servers lots of clients, but this is ridiculous. Our beers took forever to come, but by no fault of our server who was attending a million people. We will go back, but some things really need to change.

Acts are great and FB does a great job for what they do.  Lines que up early.  We were there for a 1015 show.

If you eat (bar type food), you  get preferential seating.  We didn't and our seats were acceptable.  There are a few bad seats (near poles), so watch for that.

Service is attentive in a hard to serve atmosphere.

    We are fans.

I wish there were more comedy clubs in Columbus. Funny Bone provides a killer, entertaining night out!

The location at Easton (inside the mall) is a little strange, and not my favorite, but I guess I can see the convenience and bizarre logic. Sort of.

Before the show the bar opens up to snag a drink while you wait, then inside you can order more food & drinks from your waitstaff. Let me be clear when I say Funny Bone isn't known for their food, or reasonable drink prices. You'll find overpriced (albiet a decent selection) of beer and mediocre food, but at least you have options right?

From what I understand (and how I ended up here on my most recent trip) Funny Bone gives a lot of promo tickets away to pack the house. The suggested "trade" is that you must order at least 2 drinks per person - although it's not often enforced.

Shows normally last between an hour and a half to two or so hours with multiple acts. They're usually pretty hilarious, too, so kudos FB on securing great acts!

While it's not my preferred place to go for local entertainment, FB is a decent option in C-Bus.

Funny comics! Drinks were pricey but I did to take my glass home!

In the mall, actually.  Parking not a problem!  LOTS of great places to eat within a 5 second walk, I swear.
Tickets were very reasonable, considering there is no drink minimum once you're in the venue.
We had "obstructed" view seats as we came late, so I  knocked  a star off for not getting these seats at a discount.  Really?  They weren't massively obstructed, but if you feel a need to point that out, I feel the need to get them cheaper.

I have mixed views on funnybone, hence the 3 stars.

    Good:
    1. you sign up for their mailing list, you get free tickets somewhat regularly.  get your friends to sign up and you have a consistent stream of free tickets.  win!

    2. the comedians are usually pretty great.  Who doesn't love to laugh?

    3. food is pretty decent for a comedy club

    4. parking is at the mall.  simple and easy.

    Bad:

    1.  New menu.  What?  I'm all for change, but you have one semi-healthy non greasy thing on the menu (hummus with pita, cucumbers, etc) and it was delicious.  Now, its gone.

    2.  Automatic gratuity for large groups.  This irritates the crap out of me.  When gratuity is automatically added, I refuse to add on any more.  I would tip 20% if it wasnt added, but they add it for me, so the servers are going to get 15%.

    3.  Drinks are crazy expensive.  I know thats how they make their money, but ouch.

    4. Seats are squished together very tightly.  I don't like it, but I know they are short on space, so I will deal.

    5. The MC tells the same jokes all the time.  I go often enough, I kow the entire set for the opening comedian.  come on, mix it up a little bit so the first 10 minutes aren't spent reciting what you are going to say, word for word alongside of you.

I wish Cbus had more comedy clubs.  for now, funnybone is our option for the bigger names.

I never write reviews but this had to be said. Prior to the show we went to the bar to eat an appetizer and get drinks. The experience was so miserable we were upset we had to actually stay for the show. Not only are the servers clueless but the bartenders are some of the most unintelligent and rude people I have met. The drinks are extremely overpriced and the selection is beyond limited. Don't waste your time- drive the two hours and go to Cleveland. Columbus needs to open a decent comedy club because this is NOT worth going to.

Sometimes you just need a good night out to unwind after a stressful week and when your single and not a bar or club type person, your choices are usually limited to the movie theater.   Thankfully there is the Funny Bone to help with that problem.

I usually try to take in a show here bi-monthy and each time the comedians have been adequate in being able to keep a good amount of laughter flowing.   The price for admission is reasonable and I have never had an issue with subpar food in taste or portions.     For the roughly $25 it costs me for a movie, overpriced stale popcorn, and sitting in a dark theater room, I would rather throw the cost towards a decent meal and spend the evening getting some comedic relief.   As a general rule,  I can attend a show here for right around $30....not too shabby for a night out if you ask me !!!

The staff is great and always friendly, making sure your table is well hydrated.   The only downside is that if it is a well attended show, you can be packed in to the place rather tightly.

Overall, I would recommend this place for anyone who is looking to get out for a good laugh now and again.

I had a great time at the Funny Bone. Potent potables and stellar service.  I didn't eat there, but the french fries my tablemate was eating had me green with envy. As for the show, I thought the comedians were the right combination of witty and original.  All in all, I have nothing bad to say about the place on my first visit.  I won a free ticket for that night, but I'll definitely be back. And I'll bring some friends.

We had a great time here. They have a two drink minimum but we only had one and they didn't charge us. I'm not sure how that works. They do a pretty good job of getting the crowds in and out of the show, but the bartenders just stood around talking to each other with their arms crossed.

I decided to knock off a star for food prices, but then I gave it back because they are in the mall... Probably have high rent. Either way, I had the greek salad and hummus app (yes both) before the show. Both were bigger portions that I'd expected, and very tasty. I did find 5 whole banana peppers in my salad, which is weird. Drinks were pretty good, but it's not like they were anything special. I definatly felt like we paid way more than we should have. My husband got their fake red bull, "red fuel", and I couldn't believe it wasn't free refills since its out of the soda gun. The show was good, we saw Bert Kreischer for the first time. I had never heard him before, and had a very good time. The opening act wasn't the best, but still made me laugh. Probably won't be back unless we're going with others, not really our thing. Glad I went still.

Some good acts come here, we just saw Josh Blue, but this place could use a little makeover, its bland, your crammed in, and force fed pricy appetizers and drinks.  Want to make a quick getaway when its over, bring cash!

I went here to see Brian Posehn perform. He was good.

As for the place, I was not thrilled. It was "the easton crowd."

Most of the clientele were just here to see some "general comedy."

There were people practically making out in the front row. (Cmon folks, this aint Sam Kinison on stage)

I would have thought that since Brian Posehn is sort of an alternative niche comedian, that the crowd would be similar and respectful to his comedy. Barely anyone was laughing. It seemed that they just wanted somewhere to wander into at easton to sit down and drink.

I have avoided seeing any other comedians at this place because of how crappy it is. I should have, admittedly, seen Greg Giraldo when he was there like 3 weeks before he died. rip..

Sometimes good comedians come though here, but it's rare.
And also, like, it's in a mall, which, you know, eww.

This place is a joke, and not in the good way (you know like how a comedy club is supposed to be?)

2 Stars because I may have to drag myself there to see Harland Williams in a couple weeks.

Coming from Cleveland I find it sad that Columbus only has one official comedy club and it's in a mall. However, the funny bone manages to draw some OK comedians. I have found they seem to be more miss than hit, but that's what I get for going to a free no-name show.

Has anyone else noticed the Funny Bone has not changed their decor for at least 10 years!?!?!? I feel like I am the only one that's bothered by this. I think they make enough money on their overpriced two minimum drinks and expensive sub-par food that they can afford to update the place a little bit.

The tables are cramped and you're crammed in with strangers if you don't fill a table which can be fun, but not if you're stuck with a heckler as me and my boyfriend were once. We were so traumatized that the next time we went we got extra tickets to fill up our table to avoid any crazies!

The best part about the Funny Bone is getting to laugh for free when they send you a voucher for free tix! Sign up online with your email! I really wish Columbus had some alternatives or that the Funny Bone would get a face lift and get rid of their purchase minimum and bring in funnier guys. If their food and drinks were worth it or priced better people would get get them without being forced. This isn't a New York or LA club but, Columbus deserves better!

A great addition to Easton. The food and drinks are overpriced. I believe it was $5 for a basket of fries, and I would suggest you stick to beer, because the cocktails were disappointing. But they do have a 36 oz beer that is not too bad of a deal, and bonus that you won't have to flag down the very busy servers in the dark for many more drinks. But I think its because they balance affordable tickets with high refreshment prices. Overall it really will make you laugh, not every comedian is hilarious, but there's guaranteed to be one ringer every evening. The MC, a local, and his grove city jokes have me rolling each and every time. Go experience it and I promise you'll want to go back.

PS in the summer they often have live pretty talented bands on the patio.

For some good laughs and a break away from the bar, nightclub or restaurant scene, make a trip to Easton and get some comedic therapy.

I went for the very 1st time last fall, and I live like 5 minutes from Easton.  I got 2 free tickets in a Val-pack coupon mailing and invited my beau, my BFF and his GF.  We went and saw this guy - who wasn't the funniest I've ever  seen but the whole night was memorable.

There were 2 other comedians before him and they were funnier.  We ordered food and drinks, and the food was average but the service was excellent.

Altogether, if you're looking for a fun night, check out the Funny Bone and make it a date night too! Oh!  And if you review the evening, you get 2 free tickets to come back!  I still haven't used mine and I'm planning on going again. :)

Besides the fact that you are guaranteed to be cramped and otherwise uncomfortable during the entire show, you can nearly guarantee yourself a laugh. They are expensive in terms of food and drinks, but overall a great place to go for fun!

My office has hosted our holiday party at the Funny Bone for the past four years.  It's a great place to host an event for a large group.  It might not seem like it if you've been there before because of the squeezed in seating, but for large groups, you can arrange to have a buffet style dinner, with desserts prior to the 7pm show.  The food is not outstanding.  It's clearly been in the chafing dish for too long, but it's not horrible either.  They do not consider restricted diets like vegetarian or peskatarian, but there was enough steamed broccoli (and wine) to fill me up.

I would not recommend the Funny Bone if you get offended easily.  The performers are professionals and have the confidence to match.  They will say whatever it is that will result in a laugh, even if it's 'so wrong' to laugh.

The Funny Bone is one of my favorite spots in Columbus. They book hilarious comedians. My first experience at the Funny Bone was a Ralph Harris show earlier this year. I bought the tickets as a present for my boyfriend Greg. They were pretty cheap, so I decided to buy his dinner at the club too. I still got off pretty easy. The prices are totally affordable.

Since we planned to eat there, we were told to arrive about an hour early. We ended up being the first people to show and were placed at a small table with four chairs, front and center. We were so close that Greg's thigh was rubbing up against the stage. I felt like we were right in the line of fire, but our waiter assured us that Ralph doesn't pick on his fans.

Dinner was not so hot. I had the chicken Madeira, a boneless breast with garlic, mushrooms, herbs, and a brown Madeira sauce accompanied by broccoli and mashed potatoes. The chicken was chewy; the sauce was unappetizing; and the veggies were just plain ordinary. Greg had the Tuscan grinder: shaved smoked turkey, bacon, and provolone cheese on Panini bread with chipotle mayo. I didn't eat much of my meal. I politely had it boxed up, but I don't think I even touched the stuff once we were home. If you're planning on going to the Funny Bone, my suggestion is to go somewhere nicer for dinner and then just go to the comedy club for drinks and entertainment. It's what they do best.

The evening got a little awkward when we realized that two more people would be joining our small table. A light bulb went on in our heads when the couple eating behind us was greeted by two strangers, who politely congregated around the small table full of plates. We looked at the two empty chairs at our own table and began wondering when our unexpected guests would arrive. Just as the show was starting, two middle-aged, full-figure women saddled up to the seats across from us. Honestly, I felt sorry for them, having to be crammed together into such a small space. Greg and I are rail thin, and we were having enough trouble not knocking knees with each other. As the evening's emcee took the stage, I thanked my lucky stars that we didn't have to make small talk.

The emcee had a rude-comic persona, which I get, but am not really into. He wasn't on stage long before passing the mic to opening act, Marina Franklin. She was funny. She had some really good jokes. She picked on Greg a little. We all laughed, but, honestly, I just wanted to get to the main show.

When Ralph came out in his oversized, camel toned suit, there was resounding applause. We had watched Ralph all season on Last Comic Standing. I expected to hear some of the same jokes, but he kept it mostly fresh. I was pleased to see that not all his material was scripted. He played off the crowd a lot. Ralph is a veteran of the Funny Bone, and two of his biggest fans were sitting up front at the table next to us. Ralph recognized them and thanked them for coming out to all his Columbus shows and giving him support. Then he did their favorite joke to end the night. Ralph's a very charismatic comedian.

I'd love to go to the Funny Bone again. Shows closing out the rest of this year include Ralphie May, Sommore, Hal Sparks, and Pauly Shore.

As my rating will suggest, I am a fan.  I have had a great time every time I have been even when the comedians were simply mediocre.  My only complaint is having to be packed in there like sardines.  After a few great cocktails and laughs I usually forget but once I tried to bend down and get something out of my purse only to be elbowed in the face by the woman sitting about 1.3 inches away from me.  I was okay but wasn't my best moment.  Perhaps we can kindly convince them to reconfigure those seating arrangements...

I have seem some good stand-up here before.  That really fat guy from Seinfeld (not George, some guy with a minor reoccurring role), Dave Chappelle and even some funny local acts.  Chappelle was easily the funniest I have ever seen in person.  He was at the height of his career and everyone was screaming "I'm Charlie Murphy!" at him.  He was so stoned he could barely get control of his own show.  it is a good comedy club too, it manages to be intimate while still packing in a good amount of people and the bar area outside is nice and very handy if your server is taking too long.
