Glasshalfull

I went here a while ago with a friend- the food was decent and the prices were a little high for me. But what really disappointed me was that they serve foie gras.

As the ASPCA notes on foie gras: "The birds' livers become so enlarged...that according to documentation by veterinarians, the animals must experience unspeakable pain and suffering. Birds have literally exploded from these forced feedings."

I could give many, many more examples of the truly horrific things unearthed about this industry, but I will leave it at that. I wish Glasshalfull would remove this item from the menu. It's hard to have a meal at a place with this product on the menu.

I won't return to this restaurant and will steer my friends and family to other great Carrboro restaurants so long as they have that item on the menu.

Phenomenal food! I was recommended this place by a coworker, but did not actually make a reservation so there were no tables available. We ate at the bar, which was fine, but the two bartenders were very busy so the service was not wonderful. We started with a goat cheese fig crostini, which was divine. My fave dish of the night. We both had the peach gazpacho, which had wonderful flavor but was not the texture I was expecting. I ended with the mini burgers and my friend had the beet lasagna. Both were delicious!  The bartenders were great about wine suggestions and letting my friend taste a sample. Might be my new fave restaurant! Would be a great date place!

I go here at least once a month.  I'm not giving it four stars because one in ten dishes is a little off or maybe not as tasty as a restaurant that offers the same dish at a cheaper price.  HOWEVER, the other 90% of the time I'm in heaven.  The more I try, the harder it is to chose something from the menu, because I have so many favorites. :)  I loved their chickpea fritters, all of their homemade ice creams (except beet), fried fish/shrimp/scallop dish, rare seared tuna, peach cobbler, chocolate terrine, raspberry mousse...big fan of the desserts if you can't tell. In fact, no matter where we go out for dinner, I like to go back here for desserts because nothing/nowhere has really been remotely as delicious (in North Carolina).
