Global Brew has an amazing selection of both draft and bottled beer, the bartenders are very knowledgeable and made several suggestions on new beers. TGlobal Brew does not serve food, but actually welcomes outside food. Highly recommended.

Global Brew has an amazing array of draft beers. Besides the dozens of beer options, another awesome thing about Global Brew are the bartenders - these people know everything about the various tastes of all the brews. If you aren't quite sure which drink sounds the best or aren't a huge beer aficionado then just describe what sorts of beers you traditionally drink, and the staff will find you the ideal draft.

I tried a wide array of drafts including Schlafly Pale Ale, Creme Brulee, Crispin Hard Cider, and Dragon's Milk. The Creme Brulee, a strong malt beer, was delicious. I will definitely be visiting here often.

This place is great! The only place in the area I have found like it. It is a little hidden above Wasabi, but once you are there it is beer heaven. HUGE selection of beers on tap that rotate regularly and a bottle list that would make any beer connoisseur giddy with excitement. There is plenty of bar seating and tables throughout the well put together area. There are a few leather couches you can snag if you get lucky. Although they do not serve food you can bring in whatever you would like or have food delivered to the bar. The staff is very helpful and surprisingly knowledgeable about beer styles and their inventory. Join the beer club for rewards!

Great place to start the night!!

Global is a great place to hang out with friends and drink some good brew.  The staff are knowledgable and helpful.  The beer selection is always rotating - so there is always something new to try.  The space is well-lit, modern, and comfortable.  They only do beer - so bring in your own food if you want it.

Great selection of beer and a fun place to relax.  There are many beers on tap and by the bottle. Fun to keep trying different ones, many I have never heard of before. They handled our unexpected crowd of 15 well and gave great service.

If there is one thing I love- it's beer. This hidden gem of Edwardsville sits above Wasabi near downtown Edwardsville. This place is about as good as it gets for any true beer lover. The atmosphere is fun and casual with a wide variety of patrons who are looking for a relaxing, enjoyable time. The workers are enjoyable and helpful with their recommendations and suggestions.

Now the best part- the prices! This place is affordable! Whew! I was expecting to fork out a pretty penny when I entered the doors, but this place makes becoming a beer expert affordable! You can even try their "beer shots" for $3!

The only downfall I can spot is their lack of more outdoor seating.

A little semi-hidden tap house with all the beer bells and whistles! It looks like it would be small from the outside since it sits on top of Wasabi but once you go up the stairs you realize it's a really spacious, relaxed place to grab a beer. The crowd is mixed, the workers are friendly, and the drinks aren't overly expensive.

They may not serve food, but you can most certainly bring your take out in to enjoy a game on one of their big screen TVs while enjoying a drink off of their expansive menu. I really like that they have a board listing their tap beers and their alcohol percentage along with one behind the bar that has staff favorite picks! To top it all off they offer $3 beer shots--can it get any better? Try the Dragons Milk--you'll be singing to people off the balcony in no time!

Anyone who knows me knows I love beer.  GB is the beer Mecca of the Metro-East.  They have 50 beers on tap and claim to have 200 others in bottles.  I recently visited on a sweltering Saturday afternoon.  The place wasn't packed.  The bartender was very knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive.  When I asked what kind of IPA's they had on tap she quickly named off about 5 or 6.  I was in heaven.  On our last beer we asked her to surprise us and she didn't disappoint.  I will definitely be back!

    Great beer
    Great Staff
No food, but they help you get something delivered.
Little spendy, but then again, you get what you pay for.

I don't think they are working on too high of margins, rather, the beers just cost them that much...

Great place to expand your beer taste, but those with a refined pallet may be disappointed with the tap selection. While I'm a fan of Global Brew, I wish it were better. Global Brew has a large selection, but it's not always a great selection. They have a lot of really safe run-of-the-mill beers, but usually only a few really good beers on tap; I'm a hophead though so your mileage may vary. If you do like hoppy beers though, ask for Corey, he'll always know what's good there. If he isn't there, there is usually a "Corey's Pick" labeled on the board behind the taps. If you don't find something on tap you like, they also have an even bigger bottle selection, and that has never let me down. I've never left thirsty.

If you're new to the beer scene then this is the place for you. The menu even has a section that says "If this is in your fridge, then try this...", and it's got some great introductory recommendations. Keep in mind though, most beers are around the $5 mark, and some higher. These beers usually have a higher alcohol content than the swill water Budweiser produces, and a better taste to go with it. They also have wine, and some fruitier beers for the ladies that aren't big fans of beer.

On the weekends it's usually pretty packed, and may be standing room only for a while. It's kind of a trendy place, but the crowds usually alright. It's got a good mix of both girls and guys if you're trying to meet someone new as well. Much better than the crowd and the Stagger (I hate that place). The serving staff and bartenders are very friendly. The servers don't always know their beer, but the bartenders do for sure.

I should also state that they do not serve food of any kind. You can, however, order take out and have it delivered there, or bring your own food. Sometimes you'll get lucky, and a catering service will be there passing out free food.

Other great places for beer in E-ville are Bigelo's Bistro, and The Peel.

GB doesn't serve food, but if you appreciate 50 taps and 200 caps, then you can overlook this fact. This is a great place for a drink after work or before a meal. Just bring your own basket of appetizers.

We visited on a Saturday night and this place was standing room only and thus very lively (loud).   Since it is newly opened it remains to be seen if this is just a passing trend or if will continue to be popular.  Even as a beer drinker I was impressed by the scope of their selection and even more by their glassware selection.   They take great care to serve the beers in special glasses that will enhance the drinking experience. They serve no food so if you plan on making a night of it you can bring your own or better yet go downstairs and enjoy the sushi at Wasabi.   For the evening I drank some of the Trappist ales that they had on tap served in goblets and chalices.   It was a treat since I have only had them in bottles before.   My wife who is not a beer drinker was able to enjoy a raspberry lambic served in a tall flute glass.  There really is something for everyone and even if you are Bud Light drinker I'm sure they'll be able to select something that you will like.  Our server was extremely attentive, helpful, and quick which was amazing considering how crowded the place was.   I was also impressed by the prices, the beers were reasonably priced over retail.    I look forward to returning again.

We checked out this place on a Saturday night, and it was pretty full.  It is an energetic atmosphere, but it isn't so loud that you have to shout to converse with those closest to you.  The music isn't so loud that it requires everyone to be that much louder; it is still possible to hear what music is playing, so they had a good balance going there.

They have 50 beers on tap, and over 100 in bottles.  They have wine, as well.  You are not going to find Bud Light, Miller Light, etc. here.  So if you aren't a beer snob or don't want to expand your beer horizons, there are many other bars in the area that will sling you some tasteless brew.  They have a section up front on their menu that shows some beers that are good for those who are branching out.

Since they are just getting started, their beer menu is quickly morphing and changing as they run out of things due to such high demand.  Look to see them solidify their selections and reliability as they get a feel for the area's tastes.

There are quite a few TVs for sports watching.  They have waitress service to the tables, but no in-house kitchen.  You can, however, order delivery food from many close-by restaurants.

We have already joined the "Global Brew United Nations" that keeps track of which beers you consume and gives you rewards for reaching numeric milestones.

I am very excited to have such a solid beer bar on the east side!
