Imo's Pizza

Great pizza.. they pile on the topping. Super friendly staff

I love their lunch specials! They have five to choose from and they all cost $5.50 each and last until 4:30pm. Isn't that great?! You can seriously call in your order at 4:25, and go pick it up at 4:45, take it home for an early dinner (esp if you have a night class at 6:00) and with tax it's less than $6.00.

All the lunch specials come with a half house salad exp for the one lunch option that is a full chef salad served with bread. This salad has tons of toppings from their famous provel cheese grated on top of the salad, the whole egg on the side, tons of veggies and slices of meat on top too.

My personal favorite lunch specials are the spaghetti + half house salad, the chef salad + bread, or the sandwich + half house salad (served toasted or cold per your request).

I have had their pizza once and don't really care for such thin crust pizza but overall, whether I dine in or carry-out, I really enjoy Imo's for a delicious lunch!

Imo's makes St. Louis style pizza, which is really one of those love it or hate it type things..  I love it and miss it... when I visit home I have to make a stop here!  I occasionally replicate it at home and make it myself...  Oooooh, Imo's.    

Imo's pizza isn't just about the unusual cheese, but also the sauce and crust... Apparently, Provel cheese was developed by Kraft to have an easy "bite" ... no stringy mess here. It's basically white cheddar, provolone, swiss, with a smokey flavor.  The end result is a buttery gooey delicious cheese.  The sauce is a sweet chunky fresh tomato sauce.  The crust is thin and moist, not yeasty at all.  But also not crackery dry.

My only complaint is I seem to be able to eat an entire pizza and still not feel full!

I also really like their deluxe salad with pepperoni, cheese, and olives.

They have good lunch specials, too!  (They went up to $6 each, an 8" pizza and salad, and a few other variations)

Though on my last visit I was disappointed to see they've now eliminated real brewed iced tea in favor of that NASTY soda-dispensed lipton kind.  eww. -1 star for that mess.

we were the only ones in the whole restaurant (with at least 3 or 4 people working) and when our food was ready she just yelled out our number for each item, apparently she was too lazy to carry it to the table.
