My idea of a perfect pool hall. I came up from San Jose looking to shoot at Dr. Cues and used a smartphone to find the closest hall. I LOVE the understated front door that my friends and I thought was the back door. I am the shooter among my friends so while they were looking for a brighter, less serious place, I was in Heaven. I kept hearing that line from The Hustler, "No bar, no pinball machines, no bowling alleys, just pool... nothing else. This is Ames, mister". Even though they did have food and drink available. I also love the simplicity of the rates. Pretty sure they're consistent 24 hours/day. Great tables.
As so many others have stated; this is a pool hall for pool players, but the relaxed atmosphere is great. We stunk it up that night and I was the worst among my group, but we had a great time.
I'll be back every time I go "back home" for a few days.
This place has the weirdest best hours of any place I have seen.  I get up early and get Starbucks most morning right at 5:00 AM and this place is still open from the previous night, on weeknights!  Although I do not play pool I just had to check it out. The staff was really really nice. Tthe patrons were friendly, including  giving me tips on how to play pool when I looked baffled. (I get the concept, just not how to hold the cue, etc )  They have classic rock music playing, a massage chair in front of a big screen TV, and people serious about, uh, what's that game called? Oh yeah, pool. Nice place but really designed for serious players.  When I asked about their unusual late night hours one of the staff said "We stay as late as our customers want us too".
Review Source:These are the toughest pool tables around! They are great but the pockets are so tight! Most the people that play here are very good. Average players struggle with the length of the tables (9') and the small pockets. Good players get better playing at the Fleece. And it attracts some of the top players in the region.
They are working on putting in a kitchen to have food but it's slow going. For now, food is mostly jerky to cookies & chips. They have lots of bottled beverages including some beer.
I would give the Fleece 5 stars but wont because of the food situation. We usually order Pagliaci's pizza when we're there & I usually get stuck covering most of the pizza for 8+ people. It's expensive... :s
A place for serious players only. Really nice Diamond tables that are maintained by people (Dave) who know what it takes to make a pool surface perfectly playable. You can see the same regular customers in all the time and if you are looking for a game, they will be sure to make it happen. A nice and quiet environment with perfectly maintained tables. A great place to play.
Review Source:Since Dr. Cue's went out, i've been without a pool hall.
And then, i met Dave and Oscar. Holy cats, i like these guys. They have the best-maintained tables i've seen in the area, they aren't afraid to dispense helpful advice, and they've stepped up the void created by the loss of Cue's amazing amazing pro shop by doing simple cue repairs.
It's pleasantly quiet. Unlike Cue's, there is booze, but no hard A. Snacks available, restaurant is forthcoming, and i can't wait either, Ranae. It's insanely cheap here. Like a pool hall should be, it's open damn late. Everyone's friendly and though it's full of serious players, there isn't an ounce of attitude. If you doubt any of the slaveringly positive reviews, just go look at their tables. Seriously. Note the perfect, gorgeous felt and the properly springy bumpers.
This place is for serious players mainly. Â The owner, Askar, threw down and bought 10 Diamond 9 footers and 10 Diamond Smart 7 foot bar tables that are in perfect condition. Â The rates are cheap, and there is beer and wine availiable. Â Only snacks though for food. Â This place is located next to the thrift shop, in the next lot North from Kenmore Lanes
