Been meaning to go in here after someone we knew raved about it and finally did. Â Not too bad a place! Â A lot of locals come in and are known by the staff as was evident by the way the servers were chatting and recalling what things the customers liked.
We had the stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer and they were pretty good. Â Hubs had the ribeye steak and it was tasty while I had the 1/2 Jamaican chicken. Â No mon! Just putting some sauce on it does not make it Jamaican. Â But other than that the food was tasty and the firehouse decor was - interesting.
They appear to be known for their ground in shop burger and onion rings and from the number we saw going past us they must be some kinda good. Â Next time we go (and there will be a next time) we will get our burger on!
The inside of this place is pretty nice, much different than the outside strip mall appeal that you get as a first impression. Â On this visit I had fish and chips which was just "OK" as fish and chips in the US goes. Â I did feel the oil was dirty when they cooked the fish and it had a little bit of odd flavor to it. Â The fries were pretty good as well, battered and crunchy. Â My kid got a cheeseburger which you could tell was actually good meat and not that pre-frozen nightmare most places serve.
