Another first!!
I checked out Grano de Mostaza today for lunch.  They have a sign outside that advertises empanadas, right next to 7-11, south east of FXE airport.  So Bonito, the Spice Boy, and I decided to check it out.
Inside they have an assortment of empanadas and cooked lunch specials.  The specials are in warming trays behind the counter so you can see what your getting into or ask for extra broth like I did.  I was going to get empanadas because they looked so good, not all wrinkled and crunchy like most places serve.  Anyhow Bonito ordered the chicken lunch with yellow rice and some lentil soup stuff on the rice.  It looked so good with those two big pieces of chicken, peppers and onion. I got that, it was $5 and I was stuffed when we left.  Bonito did the translating, I'm not sure if the lady serving us was down with English or not. Another guy working there was fluent in English.  The food was super tasty, cheap, and fast.  Take out or eat in, delivery.  Only one table and bar-type seating at the front window for about six.  I'm going back for empanadas soon and to check out the colada coffee. They're open at 6:30 AM till 4:00 MthruF and Sat 8to3.
Amendment: Â Had three of the empanadas today and they were really good.
Amendment II: Â Cafe con Leche is a thumbs up.
Amendment III: If you don't speak Spanish, no problem.
