The Waffle House

Ah, I love Waffle House. None of it is healthy, all of it is delicious. We don't have many WH where I live in Chicago so whenever I'm home, I mosey on down and swivel a chair. I like to sit where I can see the line cooks doing their thing, I'll never understand how they get all of those orders right. I'd be a mess after the third waitress walked up in less than five minute to give a litany of orders.

Now for my order, I never order breakfast here. I know, I know call me crazy but I hate waffles, pancakes, and French toast. I just don't like anything that is made of batter or requires maple syrup. However, don't hate on me yet. Their grilled chicken sandwich is among the best that I have ever had and I am quite a chicken fanatic. It is absolutely perfect in every way, it isn't too greasy or chewy. It is perfectly tender and juicy, I'm not sure how on this planet they do something that great with a piece of chicken but damn, I'm a believer. I always order a side of hash browns smothered and covered. Their coffee here is super strong and they lurk around every corner ready to top you off, I always ready to take on the day that's for sure.

It's not in the greatest neighborhood and the parking is a little slim and can get tight during tourist season but it's worth a trip if you're looking for a quality breakfast (or lunch) at a good price.

This location was actually where I first tried The Waffle House for the very first time and let me tell you...it was the best experience of my life.First of all,the waffles they make are crispy and crunchy to perfection and when you take a bite of the inside it is so soft and warm and when you add that warm syrup on it just mmmm.Anyways,like I was saying,sometimes the place can get a little full but that`s alright!It`s worth the wait trust me.Plus,it`s cheap!They sell everything at a fair good price and I`m pretty sure that I`ll be returning here very soon because those waffles...YUM!Anywho,I definitely recommend this place to anyone who`s looking for some breakfast or just food!Four stars overall.

I am a fan of every Waffle House. Truly, I have never been to a bad one. The waiters/waitresses are always sweet and the cook is fast. Every menu item (I have tried most of them) is delicious and goes down great any time, day or the middle of the night. It rates on my top 10 list if favorites of all time. I truly wish they would come to the midwest.
Favorite menu items are the pork chops, grilled cheese, and hash browns, followed by the best sweet tea in the world!
