The Whisper Dishes

Across the street from the Museum of Discovery and Science and adjacent to the Broward Center is one of the coolest places in Ft. Lauderdale.  In fact, you may have passed it a couple times stumbling back and forth from Dicey's.  Perhaps you have noticed two large dishes positioned directly across from each other a considerable distance apart and wondered, "what are those for?"  Well, my friends, those dishes just happen to be a site of some uber cool, mind-blowing SCIENCE!

They are whisper dishes!  Basically, you stand at one.  Your friend stands at the other.  You whisper into the center of the disk.  Your friend, who is shouting distance away, can hear you whispering as if you were standing right next to them.  It will FREAK you out the first time you try it.  But do try it.  Take all of your friends there.  Use the dishes to convey your deepest darkest secrets.  Just don't pass them by the next time you are Downtown.

I've only ever visited them at night, thus the subpar photos.  Perhaps you can visit during the day and get some better ones!  Enjoy =]
