Solita Italian

Had dinner there on a recent Friday evening.  No waiting that evening as it appeared to be a late arriving crowd.  I had the angel hair pasta for dinner.  It was a ton of pasta, but I ate it all.  Very fresh tasting and pasta cooked perfectly.  

We tried the carrot cake for dessert and it was just average, there are better carrot cakes in town (J Alexanders is the best!).

Pretty expensive place, but worth it for special occasions.  Very friendly service as well.

Glad we sat outside on a cool night as its very loud inside.

This place sucks. Their staff is rude and the ladies night specials are misleading. Don't waste your time or money here. We ended up having subpar appetizers since the ladies night dinner special would not apply unless everyone at the table ordered it. Most specials don't require the entire table to order a special.. It was not clear or detailed in their promotions or website. The waiter was rude about it and unapologetic.  They won't be around long as there are much better Italian Restaurants in Fort Lauderdale like Cafe Vico, Casa D'angelo, Frankie and Johnnies... And  better Italian restaurants on Las Olas including Noodles Panini (the best meatballs!) and Cafe Europa (snapper francese is excellent). Move on down the road to some better establishments with better food and service.

AWFUL SERVICE - CHEESY AMBIENCE - LOUD MUSIC - RIP OFF PRICES - MEDIOCRE FOOD

I was invited to a nice dinner with some good old friends that I hadnt seen in a while - i got to solita and was assaulted as i walked in by loud 70s and 80s dance music - the music was in fact so loud that i couldnt even talk to my friends on the head side of the table and you had to shout  to have a conversation with the people next to you.  

when the waiter came by to take my order, i asked him if the chicken parmesan came with pasta, his reply was "this isnt olive garden" - i told him "I've never been to an olive garden so i wouldnt know, but can you make me a small side" - he said "sure, ill do that for you..." - when the bill came it turns out he had charged me $10 for the side order of pasta - when i asked to speak with the manager, he begrudgingly took the $10 off after he berated me for asking for it - this was a sure sign of a vile place because our party's bill was over $400

this place is scummy - its like a cheesy bar/restaurant that you would see on a sopranos episode or something - the manager appeared to be on coke and the waiter was equally as much of a cocky new yorker, trying to be funny by putting his arm around me and insinuating that i go to the olive garden and dont know good food

anyway - this place is just plain disgusting - save your money and time...  its for classless people who may have some money in their pocket (you know the ones im talking about) - like my grandmother used to say "money cant buy class"
