This is a tough one to rate. Â As a bar its great. Â As a restaurant..Poor. Â I've been here many times and there are a few things that stay constant. Â Bad Service, average food at best, the beer is great, atmosphere is great and people are great. Â Mainly because the location is excellent. Â They are usually understaffed, you wait forever to get recognized at a table and you rarely get a beer menu. Â If you go to Taco Tuesday DO NOT get fish tacos. Â Our group are 100% positive they were canned Tuna fish possibly mixed in with a little Mahi. Â I will continue to go back for drinks but will choose elsewhere for food.
Review Source:Here's a good bar for people who want to try craft beer but still prefer tried-and-trues from time to time. Wednesdays are good: all-you-can-eat sushi, and it's not half bad. The decor is cozy and the biggest attraction are the self-serve taps. But it's just a casual place to go on Las Olas, though you can still feel a party vibe.
Review Source:It can't just be my low Miami expectations - my group and I found American Social to be absolutely delightful!
First, I love the set up. Our table was situated behind the bar with a great view of the TVs and the rest of the restaurant. I love the comfy couch-style stools and welcoming atmosphere.
A couple of different staff members took care of us on this late afternoon Saturday. Usually when that happens, it can be awkward for the customers or team members, who don't always know what's going on. These waitresses were on point: they were friendly and worked as a team, one seamlessly taking our order for the other.
I had the homemade veggie burger. I appreciate the challenges of making your own and enjoyed the freshness of the patty. However, the beet base came out a little sweet for me and was difficult to manage due to the burger not holding its integrity. The side salad boasted fresh, crisp greens and crumbled goat cheese. Again the dressing was a bit sweeter than I prefer, but the goat cheese counteracted it well.
I also tried a couple of fries (delicious) and a piece of the seafood flatbread (yum, wished the  bread was a bit more crispy though). The drinks were cold and refreshing - my hubby enjoyed the beer list, I had an above average bloody mary with delicious fresh olives, and we all enjoyed a round of perfectly concocted lemon drop shots. Win!
Bottom Line: Solid food and great service and atmosphere, American Social satisfies all around.
