This was a delectable dining experience.  From the wonderful service to the fantastic dishes, Grapeseed was just excellent.  The calamari sautéed in a basil sauce is the best I've had.  The filet was a beautiful cut of meat with very tasty accompaniments in the oxtail and mash.  The broiled crab cakes were light, well prepared, and came with a unique Asian flair.  We selected the recommended wine pairings which complemented each dish perfectly.  I would certainly come back again and again as it was delicious and a great value.
Review Source:I don't get the negative reviews for Grapeseed. Â This was our 2d time, and although the first time was probably over a year ago, we've definitely wanted to go back. Â Parking in Bethesda, though is a disincentive. Â This time we sprang for the valet parking. Â As for the food, it was first rate. Â My wife got the fricassee mushrooms to start and the pan seared scallops, while I got the spicy grilled broccoli and the broiled crab cakes. Â We each got an arugala salad as well. Â All of the dishes were excellently seasoned and perfectly cooked, and it's very easy to overcook scallops. Â We generally had the recommended wines, but I got a New Zealand Pinot Noir to go with the crab cakes, largely because I've been curious about NZ Pinots. Â All the wine was excellent, and very good accompaniments to the food. Â The service was also very good - attentive but not overbearing, friendly yet professional. Â We'd go here more frequently if it didn't mean dealing with downtown Bethesda.
Review Source:This place is just meh for dining.
The 3rd star is because the service at the bar has been great. Their bartenders and sommelier are wonderful! Cute space too.
Their food is pricey, and while it's not bad, I feel like it could have been a lot better, especially considering the atmosphere and price.
I'd recommend for drinks (think: happy hour at the bar) and move on for dinner.
