I saw a show here a few weekends ago and several shows here as a teenager. From what I've seen the 930 club consistently books a variety of artists, from semi popular underground bands to popular big name artists. This name recognition factor is reflected in the 930 club's prices and the crowds they draw.
Recently I saw Brazilian Girls (a multi-genre band). They didn't have an opener and they only played for about an hour - hour and a halfs worth of music. For $20 I thought this was a little bit pricey for a short lived mediocre show. After the band finished (Around 1045pm-1115pm) the place cleared out pretty quick.
I've been here twice. Once for a Lianne la Havas concert in April, and another last year for a Grits N' Biscuits Southern Party.
I had a good experience, both times. The venue is slightly small, but I still had a great time, nonetheless. Drinks were good. Bartenders were nice. There was a long line but I got inside pretty quickly. I'll definitely see another show here.
