When my girlfriend and I walked up to One Lounge, we almost didn't go inside because there was an office party going on, and we questioned whether or not they would have room. However, it was just starting to rain, so we decided to try our luck. The hostess was less than enthused to seat us, so we decided to just sit at the bar rather than take our chances with the wait staff.
My girlfriend had a gin and tonic, which is difficult to mess up so no complaints there. I ordered a sidecar, which is normally served in a martini glass. I can't imagine that a more upscale place like this wouldn't have the proper glassware, but I was served in a not-even-half-full highball glass. That might be nitpicking, but presentation is definitely important when you are paying $12 for a drink.
I was the only one eating that night, and I just wanted something small, so I got the lamb sliders. I got less than I bargained for, as it was literally just 2 plain mini-burgers on disgustingly chewy bread that may have been past its shelf life. When I bit into the first one, juices exploded out and went halfway across the bar and into my lap, which makes me think they rushed cooking them and had the heat too high. If I hadn't had my napkin in my lap. my pants would have been ruined.
That was the third strike against this lounge, so I could not recommend it to anybody. With the abundance of bars and restaurants in this city, it can't be too hard to find a better place to go.
