Everybody takes offense to being called a hipster, but there are sincere wonderful qualities to hipsters, just as there are sincere wonderful qualities to being a jock, or a nerd. Â This feeling of initiation is a basic summary of Room 11, because the place (the room itself) is absolutely tiny. Â The addition and the garden make it a bigger place, but really it's a small place where hipsters can gather. Â The drinks are expensive and the glasses are black with big rims (joke). Â And with the necessary pretense of the staff is a warm, individual streak, and the funny feeling they know what they are talking about when making an old fashioned, or serving one of the eccentric micro-brews. Â
Jokes aside, I love Room 11 and I go there all the time. Â I totally recommend them!
This place. Â What can I say. Â It was after having yummy tacos and corn on the cob at El Chucho that few friends and I stopped by here for a night cap. Â And when I say a night cap, I meant dessert since I don't drink. Â
It was ridiculously humid and hot yesterday night, so the only thing we had in mind was ice cream. Â Well imagine our sadness when our waiter said that there were only two homemade sammies left. Â Regardless, we took that and a slew of other desserts on the menu such as the goat cheesecake, pot de creme, and key lime pie.
When everything arrived, just imagine 7 girls attacking the dessert table and that would be us. Â The homemade sammies were hands down my ultimate fave and I would most definitely come back here for that.
Apparently the food there was good too, but that will need to be another time when there's more daylight and I can instagram the crap out of everything. Â
Our service was great; the folks were extremely nice and even had bug spray to help ward off mosquitos. Â A++!
Had kind of a mediocre experience here last night. Server seemed bummed that we didn't order much food and it seemed pretty visible on her face. Maybe just an off night, but I hate having to get up and refill my own water, which is annoying. All three of our glasses were empty for 5 minutes or so. The chicken po' boy was tasty but kind of skimpy for $12. When I picture a po' boy I picture a big roll with two halves, this was a very po' boy because he could only afford half a roll. Probably will give Room 11 another shot, but this definitely lowered my opinion of the place.
