Much divey-ier than expected. Which is up our alley when the food is unbelievable, but just a solid B here.
Three stars because the draft I had was the coldest, most delicious beer I'd had in a long time. And very relaxing atmosphere. I wasn't a regular at this neighborhood haunt, but felt completely welcome and comfortable.
The Pinch is basically the bar your cool-but-laidback friend would have in his basement. You know, if you had any cool, laidback friends to speak of.
The food was also solid-- Nice thick burgers with bacon and duck, served with a side of Parmesan- and parsley-dusted fries. The service was friendly, too. I like that it's such a no-frills spot that when I ordered my beer, the guy said, "Are you familiar with Belgian tripels? " yes dude, I'm aware that the beer is over 10% abv, if that's the concern...?
Anyway, I was utterly charmed by this place. I'll come back to escape the 11th St. madness, for sure.
