Had an incredible time at Bar Pilar for dinner last night. We were celebrating a graduation and wanted to add a little personal touch to dinner. The manager, Molly, was amazing about reaching out to the chef to discuss a fixed menu and brainstormed other ideas we could do. She followed up and was very proactive about helping. The other manager, Sarah, was the the day of our dinner and was fully aware of our group coming and was so eager to help and make it special. Our sever had champagne glasses ready at our table and made great recommendations for small plates which arrived as soon as we sat down. Overall AMAZING food, huge portion sizes, good vibe and music and great service. I'll definitely be back!
Review Source:First things first, bring at least 3 people with you if you go, that way you get to try at least 6 of the many amazing dishes they have at Bar Pilar. Â Some of our favorites: pork shoulder (so good we ordered it twice), fried buttermilk chicken, grilled asparagus, deviled eggs, heirloom tomatoes, and homemade chocolate toffee bars. Â Some of our not-so-favorites were: roasted potatoes (they were just average), anchovies (too greasy even for us), duck confit (good flavor but bit dry), cold corn chowder (bit too much cream), steak with soy gravy on rice (good as long as you avoid the mouthful of tongue-numbing ginger!). Â It's a small plates place so you order a round of foods, and then order your next round when your food comes. Â It was really fun being able to pick multiple things from a menu and trying them all out. Â Service was prompt, although the dishes are pretty small so by the time you order extra plates/bowls/utensils and they bring them to you the food is mostly gone. Â They do have a bar downstairs so if you come during dinner hours they will be playing loud music downstairs. Â It's pretty tampered once you get to the second floor, but you will have to go up and down the narrow stairs to enter and exit the dining area. Â The only complaint (or compliment) we had about the food was that everything is liberally cooked in butter or oil, so flavor-wise it's amazing but after 2 rounds of pork shoulder and fried chicken, you might keel over into a food-coma. Â Definitely not for the health-nut or vegans.

We came for Sunday brunch and opted to for outdoor sitting
since it was a Beautiful Sunny day. It's wonderful for enjoying the 14th
st scenery while having drinks and brunch.
I had their mouth watering Egg Benedict and home fries. Yummmmmmmmm

I Love the grunge feel, yet the quality of the food+service is excellent and very reasonably priced! *Win!*
We brought our dogs and the server was kind enough to bring water for them...
We also had an enjoyable conversation with 2 hilarious gay guys sitting next to us.
Definetly will be a returning customer!!
