Gross. I have lived in Amelia for years, yet I have only gone to Great Scott twice. The first time the music was too loud and the food was cold. So, we gave it another shot a year later.....still crap. The food was gross. The service was good though. I was mad that I wasted precious money on garbage. Don't waste your money.
Review Source:I feel like there are A LOT of unfair reviews here. When I'm reviewing this restaurant, I'm reviewing it for what it is, not comparing it to a fine dining restaurant. This is a place I've been many times, and will continue to visit. It's a 50s style diner with plenty of kitsch and plenty of grease, but that's why I like it! Their fried green tomatoes and fried zucchini sticks alone are worth the visit. They're hand-battered and fried to perfection and come with house-made sauces for dipping. Their "hot shot" (open face roast beef sandwich with a side of mashed potatoes, all of it smothered in gravy) is rib-sticking comfort food. I like the Great Scott Diner because its good food with some homemade touches that make it taste like it came right out of your grandma's kitchen. They also have a pretty good beer selection, another thing that sets them apart from most greasy spoons. Give it a shot!
