We drove up and two people were smoking in front. I should've known better when I noticed the restaurant was empty. The hostess/waitress was very nice. Â She took our order and gave it to one of the women who just came in from smoking or front. Her jeans were dirty and I couldn't stop thinking about her cooking our food. The hamburger was as hard as a hockey puck. We didn't take a bite. French fries were chalky and the rice was interesting....can't think if anything else to say about it. The food was not cooked right at all and frankly I left very grossed out. Will not go back.....even though the hostess/waitress was super nice.
Review Source:Good Greek food, unprepossessing exterior and interior. Â A waitress who acted like she walked in 15 minutes earlier off the street and had never waited tables, read the menu, or eaten Greek food. Â Seriously, close to the worst waitress I have ever come across. Â However, the delicious food helped overcome that. Â Started with the flaming cheese dish, a bit oily but great taste. Â Then the gyros platter, the meat made perfectly just as I had it on the wharves in Athens. Â (A larger pita would have helped here, way more meat than could fit into what I was given to roll it up in.) Â And a delicious baklava. Â Would definitely go back. Â Hopefully they'll give that waitress some training...
Review Source:I eat here at least once per week. They always know what I want - Large Greek salad with (mainly salmon) an some sort of meat of top. It is the only Greek salad I know of that comes with warm pita, 2 dolmades (stuffed grape leaves) and a healthy chunk of Feta.
My family is Greek and dont tell my Yaya this but Greek to Me has the BEST baklava Ive ever had! So fluffy and moist - not flat and dry like I have had too many times. My boyfriend and I ordered an entire tray for Thanksgiving and half was gone before we could even serve it.
I want to try the Spinakopita ... if I can ever get away from the salad! :)
Came over one night because I was staying at the Courtyard and didn't feel like driving anywhere. I'm glad I did!
I started with the hummus, which was a bit oily but otherwise very tasty. Then I moved on to their moussaka, which was very good. It came with salad and more pita bread, which allowed me to finish off the hummus.
Finally the owner came over and suggested I try his baklava. I'm not usually a fan -- most times it's dripping with honey and sickeningly sweet. Not this time. It's full of nuts and cinnamon, just the right amount of sweetness. Easily the best baklava I've ever eaten anywhere.
A nice quiet place to have a good Greek salad.  The special was the salad with your choice of meat.  I had the chicken.  It was good but I have honestly I have  had better.  I  would probably go again because I love Greek food and it is close to work.  I will just try something different.
Review Source:Saturday evening around 6pm, us and another couple. Only two tables were occupied, but a decent setting. Very clean and nice smelling with an awesome sound system playing classic smooth jazzy tunes. We were met by a nice lady with messy, frizzy, long blonde hair and told we could sit anywhere we wanted. Drinks ordered and inexpensive paper menus were handed to us, mine with food stains on it. A man rushes in from the front door carrying bags of groceries, goes towards the back kitchen then returns to bring our drinks. His name is Gino and he owns the place. For appetizers I wanted the flaming cheese but hubby wanted octopus. Gino swears that I will love octopus. Ok, we get it. I hate it, it's hard and rubbery. So I get my delicious cheese served with the most delectable pita bread I have EVER had. Fresh and hot and melts in your mouth YUM! We have an amazing shiraz wine with dinner and then Gino comes over with a bottle of ouzo and four shot glasses. We drink to each other and say OPA! Wonderful. Food is not the quickest out of the kitchen, but it is very good and well-seasoned. I had gyros, hubby had lamb kabob, friends had souvlaki salad and gyros. Good food, good friends, great music and shots of ouzo and whiskey made for a very pleasant evening.
My suggestion; tame the frizzy hair woman to look more polished.
Tenderize the octopus meat and don't over cook it. Invest in quality menus. Consult with an interior decorator to refine the small space. Additional waitstaff wouldn't hurt either as it was a little chaotic with only two people running around the whole place. Just a few little improvements and I'm sure this place will be packed all the time. We will return.
As promised, we came back and tried some more food! Â The atmosphere is still about the same. Â Though some more people are starting to discover this wonderful hidden gem. Â
To the food! :) To start off our evening we had sampler of Spicy Feta, Dolmas, Saganaki, Spinakopita, Tzaziki, Humus, Calamari and some Pitas. Â The Saganaki is made with a harder cheese than usual and has a wonderful texture! Â The Spinakopita is downright the best i've ever eaten! Â The calamari were perfectly cooked. Â The pita's were of very nice quality. Â The other items were pretty good too. Â For the main meal we shared a chicken kebab plate. Â The chicken was very juicy and nicely cooked. Â The rice was very nice and the green beans/snow peas(?) came with a greek "hollandaise " type of sauce. Â We even managed to save some room for a bite of desert. Â We tried their Baklava and Milk Custard. Â The Baklava has lots of nutty layers for you to enjoy (though i wish there was a little more of the crispy phyllo layers on top). Â We've never had the milk custard before, but it was very yummy!
Highly recommended.
P.S. Â I think they finally got their liquor license. Â OPA!!!
Great new little nook in the DTC! Â We need good Greeks around here. I had the Greek salad and my brother had a gyro and he said it was fantastic! The hummus did seem a bit on the "drippy" side but the taste was great. I would definitey go back to this place and they'll get their liquor license soon. :)
