This building used to be a boulder creek steakhouse now turned into a sports bar. Decor is nice with lots of tv and each table has its own personal tv, which is a nice touch during game time. Staff is still a bit inexperienced but should hopefully get better. The food was good (typical bar food) and lots of drink selection. This will be a local hangout spot for Sunday NFL football like millers ale house, but a lot closer than millers.
Review Source:I was really excited for this place and i was very disappointed. Â I gave this place 3 tries( figured i would give it the benefit of the doubt) and every time one worse than the other. Â My first time we came around 12:30 at night, late so we called ahead to make sure we weren't walking in right when it closes. Â They told us kitchen closes at 2 AM, so we thought it would be okay to go. Â After the waitress took our order she disappeared the rest of the night and didn't see her till our food came out 35 minutes later. Â We ordered two burgers and one order of wings. Â The burgers came out and not the wings. Â The waitress comes back and tells us the wings came out cold and needed to be remade. Â That didn't make any sense what so ever. Â We waited another 15 minutes or so and the wings didn't come out yet so we just asked for the bill so we could leave (which took a while because the waitress was hanging out with friends at the bar) Â Second time the waitress was good but the burgers we ordered were burnt and the mac and cheese tasted terrible. Â The third time, fish taco's were good, cheese steak terrible, buffalo sandwich horrible, crab dip appetizer good. Â The atmosphere is cool, there are tv's everywhere and one in the booths where you can change the channel. Â But other than the tv's every where, its a swing and a miss, not worth it
Review Source:I came here on a friday night to hang with some friends at the bar. Â The place was real busy, barely a seat open at the bar. Â They have tables in front of the bar that are seat yourself (sorta like chilis) so after waiting about a half hour we managed to get one of those. Â They have a nice beer selection, beers came out cold and the bartenders were on top of things even though it was very busy. Â They have TV's all over so if you wanna watch the game you wont miss it.
Overall I really liked this place and will come back for dinner to try out the food.
Great new sports bar!
The Greene Turtle is a Maryland based company that offers great bar food (including their signature crab dishes), service and sports atmosphere. The menu has the typical bar favorites but it also offers some great new original dishes (most feature crab dip or crab cakes).
I was really impressed with the layout of this place. TVs everywhere including at the table. I also liked the idea of the "mug club" which allows you to purchase your own numbered mug at the bar and drink from it every time you come. The food and service was pretty good, as some mentioned they do have a few kinks to work out, but I liked it. The crab cake sandwich was good, but would have prefered a better tasting bread than just a standard bun. The crab dip was great. My lady got a balsamic fish salad dish which she enjoyed. Overall, it was a really enjoyable experience and I would be excited to come back.
The service was great, place was very nice inside. Â Food was just ok, Nothing was over the top great. Â Will definately give it another try. Â I would have given it 3 stars but the bar looked like a great place to hang out and watch a game so added an extra star for that. Â Hope it's sucessful.
Review Source:My girlfriends and I went here last week to pre-game before going out dancing. Â The layout was spacious and there was a lot of room to stand, but it was crowded by the bar, which was not surprising for a Saturday night with a hockey game on all of the television sets. Â The bartenders appeared frazzled and it was only when I learned their names that I was able to get their attention. Â We had fun and it wasn't too loud, but I personally could not stomach more than one drink. Â It was just too bright. Â I felt I was in a school gymnasium, which was not the ambiance we were looking for to set the tone for our night. Â I did enjoy the idea of claiming your own beer jar, but other than that it seems like just another corporate restaurant on Hempstead Tpke. Â However, my review remains incomplete considering I did not actually eat there. Â Maybe on a Wednesday night, but not on a weekend.
Review Source:Good food, good service,  nice looking bar, decent  prices. However, I wouldn't go to the bar  to watch games for any length of time with those barstools. I can't stand those stools that have no back on them. They're very uncomfortable and you end up sitting hunched over. I guess they don't want you to get comfortable and settle in. So....bar is good for a short visit, or the place is good for a meal at the table. Also, even with all those tvs, I couldn't watch the met game. From my perspective, I could see the Yankee game on four screens! I asked the bartender to switch one to the met game. He told me I could watch it on the screen behind me...which would require me to sit with my back to my friends. I asked if he could just change one of the many Yankees screens, and he said that only the GM could do that. I said fine....can you get him? And he said, well....he's in and out. No help there.
Review Source:Brand new restaurant bar in the neighborhood. Â I went there with one of my girlfriends on Sunday, 5/19/13, to visit one of my other good friends that works behind the bar. Â His section of the bar was packed and no stools were available so we sat at the other end and order food and drinks. Â I had the Whipped Margarita which was an interesting spin on the classic. Â They add Pinnacle Whipped Cream Vodka to the drink and a splash of orange juice. Â My friend and I split the Eastern Shore Mac & Cheese as an appetizer and I had the Chesapeake Burger as my entree (she had the Crispy Chicken Salad). Â Everything was fantastic.
The restaurant does remind me of a cross between TGIFriday's and Applebee's, but the quality of both the service and food are great right now. Â I'm not sure if it's because they're new and trying to make a great impression, but I do suggest you get over there soon...before that "new restaurant smell" wears off.
Note: Â Every seat is a great seat. Â They have more TVs than Best Buy.
They still have some kinks to work out. Â The appetizers and main course came out the same time AND the fries are VERY SALTY! Â Don't know why they have to put salt on the fries, they should leave it up to customers. Â My sister went last week and the chicken fingers were salty as well. Â I guess they have stock in salt!
Review Source:I am so excited about this place! Â The food is sooooo good and it's nice to have a decent grab place that's not too expensive or far away. Â The atmosphere is a lot of fun and there are TVs EVERYWHERE so you don't have to worry about missing your favorite game. Â I signed up for the Mug Club and have my own resident beer mug! Â How much fun is that?! Â Can't wait to go back.
Review Source:Brand new restaurant/sports bar in Franklin Square. I had the crab melt sandwich which was awesome. For a brand new restaurant the service was fast and the food was great. Â Usually it takes a few weeks to work the kinks out.
Prices are good; sandwich/burgers $9.99 and draft beers are $4.95 I think. Â They have a mug club which you pay $40 and you get a 16oz mug with a number on it, the mug stays at the bar and each time you come they take a $1off every fill up of your mug or $1.50off during happy hour. Â
The place has TVs everywhere including your own personal tv in the booths. Can't wait to watch football here.
