I wasn't really impressed with this place last Friday night around 9pm when I went here. There was a big rectangular bar up front, and a DJ set up playing rock and rap music. The pool tables were all too close to each other and the space was too narrow and felt cramped. I did appreciate the Yelp check in offer for two drinks and two hours of pool for $20, but after an hour I really didn't need to play on those football field sized tables anymore.
Review Source:I had a birthday gathering for my husband this past weekend and we couldn't be happier with our experience. The place is clean, the equipment and tables are in great condition. It is nicely decorated with a spacious bar and private lounge area. I couldn't thank the staff enough for being polite and providing personal attention all to make our party a blast! Great drinks, great neighborhood and a great choice!
Review Source:Husband and I were in the area so we thought we'd check out this place since we were in the mood for shooting pool. Â The bartender was really nice, rates were awesome ($3 pp per hour on Saturday until 7pm), place was clean, and equipment (cues, tables, games, etc.) were in good shape compared to other places we have been. Â We didn't really drink that afternoon so I can't comment on the bar. Â The bartender was very patient and explained all the offers/specials they have for different days of the week (I can't remember them all) and they sound like a great deal...even after considering I would have to pay the toll to get to Long Island. Â Would definitely come back but just wish I lived closer.
Review Source:Went here with a few friends and although they provide pong tables and the price for pool is reasonable..the beer just ruined the experience. Â My friend ordered a Corona that was clearly skunked and the Guinness was watered down to the extent that the consistency was way off. Cmon really...
Would give this place 2 stars however the bartenders are nice and they did honor the Yelp deal without any hassle.
Hmm thought i was going to give 3 stars, but after thinking about it, the bartenders are really nice, prices are ok, and i kind of want to support a family-owned, local, hometown establishment.
The bartenders are attentive and they... care. last time they read our minds and asked if they should break out the 2nd pong table for us, with a "pitchers only $7 for pong!" remark. like we even need convincing to play! people are nice - have had good experiences playing vs. strangers.
pool/ping pong pricing seems weird to me? $7 p/p per table, so that'd be $28 for 4 ppl/hr on either. That more than what i pay in astoria, in flushing (more than double), in brooklyn, and in the west village. with that said, they always seem to give us the benefit of the doubt - with how long we played, # of people, and being really easy-going about the yelp check-in offer and not even hesitating to let me use it on ping pong (in small text it says 1 hr of pool free per 1 hr bought).
I decided to go to Guys and Dolls after passing by and seeing the new signs. I had always wanted to go but somehow never made the trip.
The place which apparently is newly renovated looks fantastic. There are about 12 pool tables, ping pong, a nice bar and a small room with an Xbox Konnect and other systems. It seems like it would be a cool place for a small party.
I played two rounds of pool with the boyfriend and we both got beers at the bar. They honored the yelp check-in for buy one get one free off your first drink which was cool.
Overall, I would say that this place is a pretty chill spot and I'll be back.
