One of the best restaurants in South Bend. I wish they had these places in NYC cause I would be here every week.

When I come here for dinner, we are seated right away and the hostess are always very friendly and full of smiles. Once seated, the waitress comes over to bring the free chips and salsa and get our drink order.  The menu is overstocked with a variety of food items.  I have had their signature Wet Burrito and it is amazing. My last trip I had the Cobb Salad and it was very good and filling.

The restaurant is always very clean and decorated in a Mexican style.

As for the bar area, their prices are very reasonable. The bartenders are attentive to your needs and I never have an empty drink in front of me. Plenty of TV's showing whatever sporting events are on at the time. Not a bad seat anywhere in the bar.

They even have weekday drink specials.. $2 margaritas!  Even the crowd isn't that bad for a chain restaurant. Friendly atmosphere every time I come here.

Hacienda is ok - definitely NOT authentic Mexican food.  However, it is close to my office and makes for a quick lunch every once in a while.

Hacienda is a regional chain and fits the model of an Americanized Mexican restaurant.  Chips and salsa are included, but the salsa is on the tomatoey-bland end of the flavor spectrum.  I never understood the appeal of ranch with the chips and salsa, but it's popular here.

Some of my go-to lunches are the salads, white chicken chili and the new naked burrito bowl.

Their frozen margaritas are pretty good and served by the liter.

I wouldn't go out of my way to visit as there are much better, more authentic Mexican restaurants in the area.

I'm from LA - Mexican food in South Bend is a joke! However, in relation to the other options in the area Haciendas is a great option and definitely has a fun vibe!

Great for happy hour - but I'd go with the traditional margarita rather than their famous frozen ones because those make me sick!

Their chips are great but their salsa sucks!

Food is definitely OK - but when the other option is Taco Bell...this is definitely the better option.
