We flew in from Colorado and we were looking for a good local place to eat. Â Some old friends recommended the Volcano Restaurant. Â I was a little skeptical when we drove up, but my doubt was gone after ordering our family ordered the pizza and I had the lasagna. Â I would highly recommend either. Â It is close to the airport, so it is a good spot to hit either heading to the airport, or just arriving.
Review Source:Volcano is one of those places you tend to forget about unless you happen to be driving out by the airport. Â It's probably been a good 7-8 years since I have been there, but a co-worker suggested it for lunch today.
The place was full, but we were greeted warmly and seated right away. Â Our server immediately took our drink order while we looked over the menu. Â There is a large selection of Italian subs, salads and pastas. Â The menu says that their bakery bread is delivered fresh each day. Â I was originally thinking a salad - the Greek and Italian salads sounded great, but opted for the meatball sub. Â The sub was huge with three very tender, Â homemade meatballs. Â The sauce was fresh and tasted great. Â It was covered in melted mozarrella on a huge sub roll...definitely needed a fork and knife! Â It was also served with a side of fries, which made for a huge meal for just $7.50.
My co-worked opted for the canneloni florentine special which came with a side salad for $7.98 (usually $12.75 according to the menu). Â I didn't try it, but it looked great and she enjoyed it.
Service was great - attentive and friendly. Â I will definitely make plans to go back and try one of the salads next time.
