Halftime Lounge

I found this place thanks to a fellow yelper. My so to be hubby and I love shufflebaord and this place offers it FREE. Plus they have $2.75 beers and put your drinks in a coozie for you. This place is filled with regulars and  the trash talkin bartender drops F bombs like no other. But she was really funny and kept everyone sitting at the bar in the conversation.

This weekend, my entire family was in town for a wedding.  We are a super competitive and athletic bunch and last night, it was decided that we should engage in a shuffleboard tournament.  One of my cousins remembered this place had a table so off we went...

First off.  Looks a bit shady from the outside.  Secondly, we were the only people there so I can not attest to the type of crowd they normally have.  Third, I won't mind going back to try it out because there's nothing shady about the inside.

Halftime Lounge is decorated with cool sports memorabilia and the bar has a crown of football helmets surrounding it, which gave this place the right atmosphere for what we were seeking.  The shuffleboard table sits along a back wall and three pool tables sit nearby.  It was the ideal set-up for our group because those of us not shuffling could throw down on some billiards.  

Halftime Lounge is cash only.  Be warned.  I had to bum $20 from my brother because I didn't have cash and they don't have an ATM.  The beers are only $2 each though, so I actually had a lot of that money left over.  They also put a koozie on every already cold beer they serve.  I've never been to a bar that does this.  That was probably my favorite part about the experience! That little gesture is worth the fourth star to me.  

The bartender was super sweet, talkative and funny.  She was happy to have people in on a Monday night because she said that it's just not one of their busier days generally.  She also told me the bar has been there for over 30 years and has a bunch of regulars.  It totally had an "everybody knows your name" vibe working.

All in all, I'd say give this place a chance - especially if you're looking for a shuffleboard or pool table and don't want to pay for expensive drinks!
