I fucking love the Halua.
It probably doesn't deserve 5 stars..... Â Â but my family has been coming here for like
30 years. So I'm partial. Â And it's at the top of my "must eat at" list whenever I'm in town.
Pu pu platter is awesome. Pork lo mein. And they have really good lunch specials. I think it's like $5.
Years ago, I came in here with a few co-workers of mine to get some late night food. Â We ordered the pupu platter and a few appetizers. Â The server was some old man and was rude and abrasive to us the entire time. Â One of the people I was with spilt his water all over the table and took a napkin from the vacant table next to us (almost no one was in there). Â The server brought the bill and screamed at us in Mandarin until we walked out.
The worst service I have ever received. Â Never go here!! The food, service, atmosphere is terrible.
PS - This is a hang out for Nashua white trash alcoholics!
Figured I'd give this place a shot since it's right down the street from me. Got take out one night and it was absolutely the worst Chinese food I've ever had. Right up there with the worst restaurant food I've had, period.
The place was dingy inside and stunk like cigarette smoke, I swear the food did too when I got it home. Maybe the smell was just stuck in my nostrils, I don't know. Pricewise, it was right up there with Chen Yang Li or Lilac Blossom, only nowhere near as good.
As far as the food itself, I ended up throwing most of it out; it was just that bad, and I am the LAST person you'll ever find wasting food. I'd recommend Chen Yang Li or Lilac Blossom like I mentioned, or for just a quick take out place, 98 on Amherst St. is pretty good.
