Henricas Restaurant

I visited this restaurant for the first time after a few years and was pleasantly surprised by the updated decor. My wife and I sat down to a menu filled with great West Indian dishes.

She had the sweet and sour jerk chicken, which was exquisite. And I had the stew snapper, which was ok.

All in all, if you're in the area, pay this restaurant a visit. The prices are a bit high but portion sizes (because of the rice) are pretty large.

The location is quite small for large groups ... very intimate.

Its with a heavy heart I give this place a bad review. I was excited when I found out about Henricas. A Restaurant that will deliver to my home and its not Chinese food. Three times I ordered for delivery and all times I received subpar or horrible food. I was very surprised to see such good ratings on yelp for this place. But when I saw who was actually leaving reviews I realize they probably just don't know better. If you are West Indian and actually know what what West Indian cuisine is suppose to taste like, DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!!!
The soups are bland and greasy, the ribs are drenched in sauce to the point you think you're having sauce with a side of ribs, chicken chop suey was bland chicken with broccoli and partially cooked carrots, no bok choy whatsoever. The prices a tad bit high but not as expensive as some places (genesis on hillside ave). Definitely not worth the food they're serving. Even the dog never want the food we didn't eat. If all you eat is chicken wing and fried rice and not used to good food, then you can follow the other reviews and eat at Henricas. But if you still have taste senses in your taste buds, save yourself time and money and go somewhere else. If I dare say it, even golden crust food might be better then this place....yuck!

I have passed by this place several times and had no idea this was a restaurant.  I went here for the Brunch on Easter Sunday.  I am a fan of fusion food with Caribbean/Asian influences. I must say, I am happy I went.  Although it was busy, the live entertainment was soothing.  My guy and  I were seated right away.  Although there were alot of selections to choose from on the buffet, I must say I was surprised to see crab at the buffet.  You wont  see crab at at a buffet.

Although I liked everything I put on my plate (curry goat, jerk chicken, lo mien, whiting) I mostly enjoyed the chicken Alfredo and the sweet and sour salmon the most. The fruit punch was really good. I will be making more trips to Henricas when I am in Queens.  

Unlike other Caribbean restaurants I have been to, I must compliment the staff at Henricas for being very attentive to me and my guy.  What I liked most was one of the ladies (she has dreads) came over to over table and told us if we wanted to hear a particular song to be sang, to request it.

Good vibes.  Will check out karaoke night soon.
