So let's be totally honest, when was the last time you were blown away by an Asian buffet? Â For me it was probably when I was 15 and was stoked I could ride my bike to the buffet down the street, and eat copious amounts of Chinese food til I exploded. Â Then I'd pedal home and play Dynasty Warriors, but enough about me, lets talk about Hibachi.
Pros:
+ This buffet selection is pretty big. Â It's got at least 40 different Chinese dishes and all the fixins. Â Plenty of fried american things, a sushi station that looks great, and a Mongolian bar round out the experience. Â Amazingly, most of it's above average for buffet food.
+ The price is stupidly cheap. Â About $7 for lunch.
+ In terms of eating with your eyes, it lulls you into thinking that it's gonna be really good...
Cons:
- ...and then it turns around during the first bite and slaps you with a reminder you're at a chinese buffet payed $7 for. Â
- Ditto on some of the sushi, and the fruit bar. Â It looks beautiful, and tastes a little questionable.
- The service is lousy, but fortunately, it's mostly self serve. Â Just a bit tough to get drink refills.
Overall, it's good for a Chinese buffet, but not good in terms of quality food. Â Go to eat to explode, not to worry about flavor or waist lines.
What a great selection of foods to choose from!
We have gone twice for dinner, so I'm not sure about the lunch selection. But the dinner was great. Anything from french fries to sushi! You could make your own stir-fry like Flat Top (a scaled down version) or get a New York Strip cooked to order. They even have a sushi chef making fresh sushi the whole time we were there.
For me, I'm a sucker for the make-your-own stir-fry. I have to get that first. The selection of mixings is low but ample enough to satisfy my tastes. They have a few sauces to choose from, go for the house sauce, it was tasty.
For the kids they have lots to choose from including french fries, onion rings and chicken on a stick.
For desert, lots of cakes, pudding, jell-o, ice cream and a chocolate fountain! That chocolate fountain scares me a little but it sure was good. Only complaint, they could use a few more things to dip like rice krispies and bananas.
Price was good for the enormous selection, 9.95. Does not include drink but I usually like to get water because of the high amount of salt in Chinese food.
The decor was nice and open with lots of seating, a fish pond at the front is a great thing for kids to look at and the service was ok. The "kids" waiting tables need a bit more time to mature but they are extremely nice.
Definitely will be going back!
