We went here after a day of hiking and I was pleasantly surprised at downtown Nashville.  Hobnob is a quaint no fuss place you can come in casually dressed, but feel pampered by their hospitality.  They have the pastry case and cash register in the front to pay after your meal.  There are good classic American sandwiches for lunch and nice cuisine for dinner.  I like how I can get veggies (steamed not drenched in fat!) with the meal.  Our waitress was courteous, kept the drinks and condiments filled; checked on us just a the right times  We came at 2 pm for lunch and although there was no wait, almost all the tables were taken.  The pastries were on the side of crispy, but I ate the entire cheese Danish. The pot roast sandwich is their star attraction, but I liked my Rueben although a little light on the meat.  I'd imagine there must quite a wait a meal times.  On food it hits the basic notes well.  Yes they have simple wooden chairs,  come on, I think you can see it when you walk in.
Review Source:Had lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Â Both had the Pot Roast Sandwiches and steak fries. Â Service was friendly and prompt. Â Sandwiches good, meal size good.
No complaints whatsoever. Â We'll be back. Â
Amost forgot, They also has baked goods at the cash register, The cookies were good, but pricy at $2 each.
