Hofbrau Joe's Aka Hofbrauhaus

It's actually very sad that a place we used to love and visited often for many years has gotten this bad! We set up many gatherings here for years and we used to bring our friends for a special outings. We heard it was under new management and thought lets give it one more go. We shouldn't have! This place has so much character but is stuck in a time warp! The food was really bad. They really need to find someone that has the passion for making good german food. What has happened to restaurants serving hot entrees at luke warm temperatures.  There seems to be no such thing as a good hot meal any more. If I want cold I'll order a salad. Speaking of salad we ordered the tableside Ceasar Salad and it used to be outstanding this time it was terrible. My husband had Jager Snitzel and it was fatty and had no flavor. I had a Salmon that was on a bed of spinach with seafood that was TERRIBLE! The Salmon was over cooked the best part of my meal was the rice. Sad:(! My husband decided to order dessert to go - we should have left it. German Chocolate Cake and Pumpkin Cheesecake - both of which were old, tasteless and just not good at all! Now on to the facilities - this place really needs to update these items. Nothing has changed. There is barely room to turn around and the toilet seats have been the same since day one!  I really wanted this to be a good thing. I missed going to the old Hofbrauhaus I have no intention on returning given this last visit. End of what used to be a very good time!

Just happened to be driving by and the quaintness lured us in. The food was adequate as was the service. We ate on the pub side which was a lot more casual. Not sure I'd go back but not upset we went. My date, who was a strapping farmhand type in lumberjack overalls, ate two plates of potatoes and giant sausages.

I got the flat iron steak. It tasted burnt. My steak came with a salad. The salad dressing smelled sour and I immediately decided there was NO way I was pouring that all over my food. My steak also came with a rock. Oh, sorry, I mean a "warm crusty roll". HAAA. It's really too bad the food was disappointing. The atmosphere was really cute and I really felt like I could have been in Germany. Oh well.
