I never realized this place was over here. I had never previously been in the area where this restaurant and other businesses are located.
I tried the wings in the Old Crow Bourbon Sauce. The wings were good, but the sauce was okay. Not bad, but not my favorite. I liked that the wings were meaty and not too crispy.
There are several beers available on draft and bottle.
As a previous reviewer already stated, food is overpriced for what you get. Â I ordered the bourbon wings with french fries and hubby ordered the fish and chips entree. Â My waffle fries came out cold and limp. Â Hubby's fish and chips were good but portion was extremely small. Â He received one piece of fish and a small handful of waffle fries. Â Would have expected more for $10.95. Â Overall, food was okay and service was mediocre. Â We will likely go to Taco Mac the next time we are craving bar food. Â We actually hit the Chick-fil-A drive thru across the street for milkshakes on our way home because we were both still hungry.
Review Source:Stopped in at 11:42 PM on an NFL playoff Saturday night (about an hour ago) when they allegedly were going to be open until 12:00 AM (at least according to Yelp) to get a carryout club sandwich, and possibly a drink while I was waiting.
I managed to get two steps inside the unlocked door, and a server yelled "WE'RE ALREADY CLOSED!" across the dining room at me rather than approach me and share that information in a more professional and/or friendly manner.
I will not set foot inside this place again (this was my first and last attempt), and as far as I'm concerned the death spiral they already appear to be in can't happen soon enough.
I'm not sure what was going on when this place first opened (based on previous reviews) but when I went on Sunday I definitely enjoyed it. The food was really good. I had the fried fish sandwich and waffle fries and it was really good. The portion was very large for the price. The manager was friendly and accommodating. Our server was helpful and personable and they have tons of drinks to choose from. My friend had the wings in their barbeque sauce and he said they were great! If you are thinking about checking it out, don't let some of these reviews scare you. Come see for yourself. I doubt you'll be disappointed. I'm not giving it a 5 because the spinach and artichoke dip was ok but could be better.
Review Source:For openers, it's not barbecue (and those are usually the only restaurants I write about - see other reviews), but I thought we'd give them a try...
My counsel is that if you're planning to give them a try, I'd do it sooner rather than later - they don't look to be long term survivors...
High expectations in the area when newcomer Hooligans moved into Taco Mac's space... the TM folks moving further east on Holcomb Bridge...
Bottom line: Hooligan's offers lots of beer choices, average food on its best day and the service leaves a lot to be desired. There's a sushi restaurant and a Starbucks in that same center - both of which offer better food and service.
The Brown Shoe Gourmet won't be returning.
I would not subject yourself to the "food" here. My friend and I ordered the buffalo wings as an app and two bacon cheeseburgers for lunch. The wings came out at the same time. I didn't care for the sauce, but even worse, the ranch tasted like Kroger brand. The hamburgers were well done greasy messes with congealed American cheese and bacon that tasted like the precooked frozen kind. The bottom bun was totally soggy and you could literally see grease pooling on the plate...just gross. The sides of mayo were even congealed on top, like they had been sitting out all day. I had a side of mushroom gravy for my waffle fries. I sent it back once because it was cold. I don't know how you make gravy with no flavor but they did. The only passable food I ate was the fries and a pickle. The absolute worst part I that we told our server how bad the food was, and she said the manager would come talk to us...he never did. He just comped our meal and never spoke to us. Pitiful. There's no way this place is going to stay open. I seriously worried I might get sick; if you cook like this, you can't possibly know anything about running a safe kitchen!
Review Source:I was glad to see something new in open in this space. Â My friend and I had good service at the bar. Â I was happy to see a bottle of Buffalo Trace on the shelf, but when I drank the last shot, they did not have another
I loved The Saigon Kick wings, nice kick with great flavor. Â But there wan nothing really special about the Philly. Â My friend liked his ribs. Â My girlfriend and I Â stopped by a few days later for a drink and some deviled eggs, Â curried with a shallot and some bacon.
Either they have worked out their service issues or we avoided them by sitting at the bar. Â Either way, we had a pleasant experience and there are a few interesting items on the menu that I intend to try and the place has a cozy feel. Â I hope they make it.
Loco Fox wings were at least good enough to try other alleged signature items. Tough to go wrong with curry and bacon on deviled eggs. May rise to better than normal sports bar fare. Barely. Maybe.
With the previous occupant Taco Mac, just down the street with a better beer and TV selection, best of luck.
Service was more than fine, so did not experience the issues of the not-shilling reviews.
The service was among the worst, I've experienced in any restaurant. Â It was so bad that it was literally comical how neglected we were the whole time we were there. Â The frustrating thing was that the food (pizza and tacos) was pretty good. Â I hope that they'll get their act together, but I would not waste your time for now.
Review Source:Picture this its girls night out. Â Time for dinner & a movie. Â We ordrered chicken wings & chicken nachos. Â We were told by our server, over a span of an hour, that our food would be out in just a minute. Â An hour passes and our comes to us and says "I have some bad news...the 'computer' did not put your order through, and if I put the order through now it will be awhile before your order will be ready. Â Then she tops it off with "come back again and enjoy your movie."
Need I say more...?
