You may be wondering 1) what the hell I was doing in Rockville and 2) why I went to Hooters; if you were to ask me, I'd be all like, 1) don't worry about it and 2) WINGS. Also boobs. But mainly wings.
Except I didn't end up getting wings. You know, Hooters' wings are good and all, but sometimes I like to be adventurous (and believe me I know that it's a real gamble). So while my companions got themselves some wings, I went with the Texas Melt. It's like a patty melt on steroids.
We also got some deep-fried deliciousness on the side, namely the Lots-a-Tots, Fried PIckles, and fries with some sort of cheese sauce. Unfortunately the fried pickles didn't come with the sauce that usually accompanies them (they'd run out), so I got ranch instead. You should know that the fried pickles at Hooters are chips, not spears, which definitely works in their favor.
I was pleasantly surprised by the Texas Melt. The meat was cooked to the right temperature (I asked for medium because, dude, it's Hooters and I didn't know what to expect) and had a nice juiciness to it. It was not a bit dry nor bland; I was pleased. The fries aren't bad, but they could be better. The fries pickles are awesome, as was the wing that I sampled--but you already knew that, because eeeeveryone goes to Hooters for the wings, right?
The service? Would you expect anything less than friendly? Our server was small, super cute, and was definitely qualified to work there.
My first time going to Hooters and I had a horrible experience  at this location. I was attending a conference at a near by hotel and colleague suggested that we go for there for lunch.
Long story short....there were only a few people in the restaurant and it took 45 minutes for the food to arrive. When it did come the orders were wrong and she forgot to enter 1 person (it was only 4 of us) order.
We asked for the manger and he seemed not to care....no apologize...just okay and a look that said "what you want me to do"....
I guess if we were a group of men it would have been different...
