Get the potato soup, it can't be missed. I usually order multiple appetizers during happy hour. The mushrooms are good, the buffalo chicken fingers used to be better - I think they're fussing with them and now they taste like Tyson's frozen kind. Good place to meet a friend for fried diet busters.

We decided to go to Houlihans when we realized that it's been 20 years since we last went to one. We went here on a Saturday night around 8ish and were promptly seated. Our server was Willie M. He welcomed us to the restaurant and said that since it wasn't crowded, we can expect a quick service. Uh.....okayyyyyy. For apps, we ordered the disco fries, which is supposed to be similar to poutines. This was disappointing. Not enough gravy. I ordered the Grilled Atlantic 5 oz Atlantic Salmon, which was pretty good. My daughter ordered the Grilled Rosemary Chicken and asked to substitute the California Mashers for the mashed potatoes. I guess she didn't say it properly because the waiter said that she has to be specific so he knows what to write. I'm serious. He said this! So, my daughter says "I would like to substitute the California Mashers for the mashed potatoes." So, he wrote it down. Well, guess what? She got the mashed potatoes anyway. When Willie M. came back, we told him about this and he went on the defensive and said that's what she wanted and he wrote down mashed potatoes. Rather than saying the customer is right and insist that he brings us the correct order, I stepped in and said "That's ok. We'll eat that anyway. Forget it." He didn't offer to correct our order. Instead, he robotically asked, "Are you done with the disco fries? Can I take it away?". I was upset with him. Didn't want to argue about it because I was afraid he was going to spit into our correct order if he came back with it. Anyway, back to the dinner. She thought the entree was ok. Husband ordered the Ahi Tuna Salad. The weird thing about this was it came with bananas. We thought he misread it and it should've been banana peppers. But, he was right. It came with bananas. It was a WEIRD dish.  Willie M came over and gave us our take out boxes but no desserts were offered. Just a check and he left. WEIRD service. What was upsetting about this meal was that Willie M made my daughter clarify her order and he still got it wrong! What made it worse was he didn't apologize or bring us the correct side. But, I got to give Willie M credit, though. Service was quick. Don't think I will go back here.

We had been to Houlihan's before but it was our first time at this particular location about 2yrs ago. We had a bad experience at this restaurant "food-wise" . We ordered stuffed mushrooms as appetizers and got cream-cheese filled mushrooms. I ordered some kind of a chicken and guess what... it was chicken stuffed with cream cheese with a side of cream cheese! I thought the chef wanted to put all patrons on a cream cheese roller coaster. I like cream cheese but not so much in one day and in everything I consumed. We simply paid the bill and left the restaurants with our plates still full. We thought the menu needed to be majorly re-vamped and we never went back to Houlihan's at this location or any other after that.

I really liked this place I had a plate called the jumbalaya which was really good. Nice resturant and very clean. Overall everything was pretty good taking one star off because its a little pricey but will go back.

I really like coming here every once in a while. Their wings are so good. I get them every time I'm here. Burgers are good. I always order the chicken parm. I've never had any problems withy food or service here.

I hate giving one star to any place...but my wife, daughter and I just regretting coming to this restaurant at all.  I even had a coupon for a free meal, but despite the discount, wish we made a different decision.

First we were seated after a 45 minute wait and immediately were shivering due to a terrible cold draft.  We waved the manager to come over and he said that this table receives those complaints often due to the vent overhead.  I asked why would you sit anybody there then, but he said that they were at capacity and had no choice.  We didn't want to wait for another table so just stayed.  Mistake.

The menu is extremely limited and pricey.  We just ordered burgers with side salads.  The burgers were overcooked to our requests and really didn't taste anything special.  The fries were meh.  The salad may have been the best part of the meal.

The server was impatient and borderline rude.  She just didn't seem to want to show patience for anything.

    Last time here for sure.

Good for casual lunch and dinner.  Love their mangotini vodka.  Good food for the price.  Lots of TVs for sports watching.  Have returned a few times.

I am writing this review based only on happy hour. Which I've been here a few times. The happy hour menu consists of many $4-7 apps, many of which are good finger snacky foods. They offer  $1 off any drink which for happy hour drinks, it could be better. The food is eh and their wine selection is ok. The location is conveniently right off rt 1, ambiance is nice and dark with hard bar stools which could be a problem for someone who has minimal cushioning on their tush.
if youre looking for cheap apps and ok wine in a dark setting this is the place to be.

Im not one to review chains but I frequent this Houlihans for lunch with colleagues and I am so impressed with the quality, taste of the food, the great attentive service and consistency of experience. My party is always quickly seated and we can order, eat and pay within an hour. Many of the service staff remember we are returning customers and new service staff appear to be consistently trained to check if we are new or returning customers. Managers are on top of the service and often ask about our experience which I appreciate. Service is always willing to substitute for healthy items or provide extra of sauces. For example they offer a cauliflower mash instead of potatoes/fries which helps keep the plate low calorie (if you get it without the bacon, yes take note, healthy cauliflower mash comes with bacon, go figure!). The menu has a wide selection and includes lunch time portions.

Items on the menu my party always order: Burgers, Fish Tacos, Steak Salad, Asian Chop Salad, Ruben, Smokehouse Sandwich, Nachos.

Service was horrible. Went at lunch time on a Sunday to watch football and get a few apps. Ordered a pair of Bud Lights and, no exaggeration, it took 20 min to get them. 2 appetizers took another 10 min after that. On top of all that they were playing terrible music instead of game audio which is weird when sitting at the bar. Would def not come back.

I remember this place opening up when I lived in Mercer County years ago. I don't believe I ever at a Houlihan's prior to my visit this weekend, I was too busy enjoying the wings at Hooters a few doors down. The food here seems to be a few notches above Friday's, Applebee's, etc. One thing that stood out is that my wife and I believe the enchiladas and tortilla soup at Houlihan's is better than some of the Mexican establishments we dined at. Probably not going to go out of my way to dine here again, but if given the choice I won't hesitate to dine here.

I've only sat at the bar, and these guys are the best on rt. 1. The food is great, and the drinks are awesome as well. I go there to see the bartenders.

We go there for lunch during the week and sit at the bar. The bartender realy knows how to mix a good martini or any other mixed drink. She's very good, and the food comes out quickly and is good.

Been there on Friday during Happy Hour and on the weekend. Our favorite very good bartender does not work those hours.  The sangria tasted like over-sweet Kool-Aid.  The Mojoio came with rotten mint leaves! Didn't you look at the mint? The manager came by and offered a free drink for our trouble. That was about 2 months ago.

Just went there again this evening. The same thing happened. Rotten mint leaves in the Mojito. Sent it back and it was re-made. The second one also had rotten mint leaves; just not as many.  Sent it back and ordered water.

The manager did come by, apologize and offered me a free drink. She went and got fresh mint and had the drink made again.  The mint was fresh, the limes were slightly discolored and the taste was off. I had to add a packet of sugar to the Mojito to make it drinkable.

Thought they had to go to bartender school to be allowed to serve drinks.

Don't go there for the drinks!!! The bartenders don't know how to make anything other than pulling a beer.

Just look at what you're doing. How long does it take to look at the mint to see if it's fresh?!?!

Houlihan's is one of the only "classy" chain restaurants in this area, and it has very good quality food compared to some of its competitors. The atmosphere is good with a very large bar and bar seating, and its size means that you don't usually have to wait too long. You can call ahead for seating, which is always a plus. It is generally a good, normal place to eat out.

I like some chain restaurants, but it's been hit or miss for me at this location.  I had really good pot roast during one lunch, but mediocre meals other times.  I guess being a scratch kitchen means consistency can vary?  My chicken noodle soup had too much pepper for my kids (shouldn't the customer be allowed to add salt and pepper to taste??).  Yet my kids like the ambience, so perhaps I'll just stick with the pot roast if I go back. It does seem to be a popular place.

Went on a Saturday night and were able to be seated right away. The restaurant was dark and our booth could have been cleaner.

Our waitress was incredibly annoying. She constantly hovered around the table, interrupted conversation, and was too enthusiastic to the point of insincerity.

But I'll risk it and go back because the strawberry lemonade was delicious as was the hummus and bruscetta!

Just had an odd experience here. I've moved away from cookie cutter establishments but had a gift card and decided to go.

We had a total of three waiters during the meal and then no one wanted to give us a check. From the time we finished our meal to the time we actually left = 1 HOUR. I'd classify that as a catastrophy! (Not entirely staff's fault...I'll explain)

We ordered drinks with our trainee waiter (after she approached us a minute after being seated asking if we'd like to order entrees). Then her spotter came up and took our apps and entrees. Quick side note  - there is something up with their soda. I seriously think they manipulate it somehow because it was so f'n delicious. Like adding triple the amount of butter to a dish. Maybe they're adding butter to the lines?!

Anyway, apps come out and I had the French Onion soup. Cheese and bread were good, the onions cooked properly, but was super salty and over seasoned (leading me to drink tons of delicious soda). We also got the fries with cheese and bacon on it - boatloads of artery cloggin', fried enjoyment.

I kept it simple for my entree - mushroom swiss burger done medium. Well, I asked for medium and got well done (probably for the better). Pretty standard burger and nothing exciting. The entree came with fries and pickles.

So we finish and started to wait for our check. There was a bad storm outside so we weren't in a huge hurry. About 25 minutes go by before we ask for a bill. When we tried to pay, the computer was screwed up because of the bad weather - another 25 minutes or so. We finally see the manager and were taken care of. Karma for me going back to national chains!

One of the better Houlihan's. I know "chains" are supposed to be the same, but you and I both know that's not true. No matter where you go, the mgr, the staff, the bartenders, etc., make a difference.

With that in mind, this Houlihan's seems to work better than the one on Rt #18 and the one on Rt#22. Drinks seem to come out faster, the food comes out hotter, etc. than at the "others".

Also love the fact that it's open so late. I fly alot and find my self at PHL at midnight more times than I care to think about. I can still get to Houlihan's and get food (bar menu only) and drink until 1:55am. Love it.
