I-57 Rib House

This places BBQ is very good. The only problem is that sometimes the staff act like there doing you favor by giving you the food you're paying for. If you go during a time like friday night or any other night, plan on waiting a very very long time for your order even if you call in. But its worth the wait if you're in a good mood that day

Anyone that's a true BBQ person knows this is not a specialty of Chicago.  You have to go south to have any chance of really good BBQ.  I've been going to I-57 for a number of years.  They recently re-opened  after a fire had them closed for about a year.  Now the place looks a whole lot better than they did before they closed down.  Big screen TV, wifi(supposably) and now they take charge cards, a huge issue for many customers before .  Their customer service has also improved somewhat and the wait time is not as bad as it used to be.  But going on a Friday night, be prepared to wait at least 30-45 minutes.

Now the food:  the hot links, no comparison.  Always has been and still is the BOMB.  But the rib tips have never been the greatest.  They are ok, but on this particular night they were dry.  Sometimes I had to knaw on it.  Not supposed to do that, for sure.  Fries were good.  Chicken wings weren't Harolds, but they weren't bad either.  I've never had their slab of ribs so I can't really comment on those.

Overall, its not bad and if I have a fix, I'll definitely be back.  But I've certainly had better.

Drunk as a skunk, I needed to soak up all the alcohol I consumed since 5:30PM
We wound up at some rinky dink ass bar across the street (I forgot the name)!
You can smell this place almost a mile away...I stumbled in and ordered a bbq rib tip dinner which I halfway ate in the parking lot.

Bread, fries, tips & sauce falling from the sky in my mind! Love this stuff!!!
