It was Saturday night and pretty empty (we were there to see a young band we had heard great things about).  There is nothing more depressing than an empty dance floor, lights blinking and spinning optimistically, a couple playing  pool in the background, he, with his blue tooth still inserted, big phone clipped to the hip of his high-waisted jean. Â
We got a pitcher of beer and a couple of waters on the side since it had been a long hot day. Â We were surprised at the bill, $6 more that the advertised price for the beer. Â
They charged $3 for each glass of tap water!!! Â What!?!?! Â
We were not just in there taking up space and trying to to be cheap-skates by drinking water; we bought drinks. Â
And they were really indignant about it. Â
I mean, this is a trashy joint in Chicopee MA, not midtown NYC. Â The favorite drink for the costomers seems to be ice-core pitchers of Bud light. Â It was an empty Saturday night. Â Don't charge your costumers for water; they won't come back. Â They won't even get a second drink.
But the band was pretty awesome; it was just a shame that more people didn't get to see them.
After reading the reviews on Yelp we decided to stop at Ichabod's for brunch on the way to the Berkshires. The best thing about it was the staff, they were very friendly and accommodating. Â The highlight was the bloody mary--very good.
Other than that though, it was a pretty poor experience. Â It is a 'classic' all you can eat buffet. Â The warming trays were not marked so you had to open the cover of each one to see what was inside. Â Kind of a pain. Â Plus, what was inside was not too mouth watering. Â I am pretty sure the mashed potatoes came from a box. Â The omelet bar, made to order, produced butter laden omelets which I tasted for hours afterwards. Â The turkey breast look very dry though I did not taste it. Â The ham was mushy. Â Felt pretty sick after eating there. Â Again, the people were great but they need to do a lot to improve the quality of their food.
